The Boutique Hotel Posada Terra Santa is housed in a mansion that used to belong to the Mallorcan aristocratic family Boixador. Built in 1576, this magnificent building was completely renovated as recently as 2014 and now offers 26 beautifully appointed guest rooms, ranging from cozy double rooms to the luxurious Baron Suite. The successful interior design of the hotel combines the natural charm of traditional craftsmanship with modern elements and a touch of glamor. A special treat is the fantastic rooftop terrace with plunge pool and views over the roofs of the old town.
Historic hotel: Contemporary design against old architecture
The Boutique Hotel Posada Terra is situated in a historic neighborhood where even today the descendants of some of the oldest families in Majorca are still living. The spirit of medieval Palma de Mallorca can be felt everywhere. The owners Ignacio Jiménez and Carmen Cordón have got the mix of the old and new spot on with this centuries-old building. Palma has a wide range of hotels, but the Hotel Posada Terra Santa still manages to stand out from the rest. Despite its central location, the visibly historic architecture makes an almost rural impression and reflects how Majorcan nobility would have once lived. Delicate, glamorous furnishings including a designer fireplace, velvet wing-backed chairs and chrome lamps add a more elegant touch. The result is a historic building that’s been brought to life without making it into a museum.

The location in the old town of Palma makes it ideal for short works, spontaneous trips out or a full day of exploring the city. The hotel restaurant La Despensa del Barón on the ground floor is a real feast for the eyes. Under the original stone arches (dating back to the 16th century) guests are served modern regional cuisine: In the morning a beautifully presented breakfast buffet and in the evening a small but excellent menu featuring typical Iberian fish and meat dishes. In the lounge you’ll find a self-service honesty bar with a small selection of refreshments that you can also take up onto the roof terrace.
Leisure & sport: Small vaulted spa for private use
In keeping with the overall character of the hotel, the mini spa with plunge pool, sauna, massage and fitness room is housed in the former granary. Here, too, you’ll love the blend of modern facilities and old stonework. You can also book the spa for exclusive use.

The Posada Terra Santa is tucked away down one of Palma’s narrow streets, not far from the heart of the historic center where you’ll find the cathedral (about 500m away). The famous Plaça Major (Palma’s main square) is only around 200m away.
