With a total of 38 rooms—all of which receive plenty of natural light—the overall design concept exudes ease and joie de vivre. Even up until the present day, this 4 star establishment is owned by the family Camera d’Afflitto, who also once worked in the original paper factory. The facilities are spread across multiple floors, and can be reached by way of staircases which also lead down to the sea, as well as to a beautiful garden.
Historic Hotel: Maritime flair in a former paper factory
The historic paper mill was lovingly converted into an elegant and luxurious hotel. Despite its conversion, the characteristic historic charm of the building with its adjoining mill has been preserved. Even the water source, which formerly powered the paper mills, still bubbles on today. The tasteful blend of past and present is also reflected in the rooms by the combination of both modern and antique pieces of furniture.
Beach Hotel: Sunbed on the bathing platform or at the hotel’s swimming pool
Several of the hotel’s own bathing platforms can be reached via stairs which also lead down to the beach, inviting you to sunbath or take a swim in the warm Mediterranean Sea. Beneath the waves, the hidden coral worlds are filled with fishes, making them the ideal spot for snorkeling. Alternatively, you can also soak up the beautiful sea view in the hotel’s swimming pool, which is surrounded by parasols as well as featuring its own small snack bar. Both the pool and the private path to the sea are reserved exclusively for guests at the hotel. The nearest sandy beach is only a 10 minute walk away.

The rooms of the hotel are all equipped with air conditioning, cable or satellite TV, minibar, safe as well as WiFi and have either sea views or views of the pretty landscaped courtyard. The elegant maritime style features in each of the rooms, furnished with various trinkets and treasures originally found on a ship, and fits well with the hotel’s location directly on the sea. The beautifully-designed superior rooms feature a private jacuzzi tub, in addition to the junior suite, which has its own romantic private garden as well as a jacuzzi tub and is furnished with antique furniture.

Each morning a rich breakfast buffet composed of local produce and plenty of fresh fruit is served, and can be enjoyed on the sunny terrace or in the hotel’s restaurant. The restaurant "L’antica Cartiera" is headed by chef Luigi Cioffi and consists of 2 spacious, elegantly furnished rooms. Fish dishes and Mediterranean specialties from the Monti Lattari are on the menu. Guests can choose between half-board and full-board. The cosy hotel bar is a nice place to relax before dinner with an aperitif or a nightcap to round off the evening.
Sports & Leisure: Swimming on the Amalfi coast and excursions in the surrounding area
