Spa Hotels Netherlands

The Netherlanders are known for having a true connection with nature, making their favorite cities and coasts perfect for a getaway among beautiful landscapes. Many spa hotels have embraced this: whether in the magical capital, directly on the coast, or out on a North Sea island, a holiday in the Netherlands will surround you with natural beauty and luxurious amenities.

Where to stay at a spa hotel in the Netherlands?

Amsterdam: Dreamy city break

In one of the most beautiful cities in the world, nestle up between an expansive canal system, within gabled facades, and among technicolor riverfront views. At a classic old-school spa hotel directly downtown, take in views of orange-rimmed boats passing with the sunset from the restaurant on the terrace. At a hyper-modern spa hotel close to Vondelpark, a public park speckled with sun-bathing lawns, baroque statues, and criss-crossing streams, settle in for total relaxation. Some of these hotels boasting truly first-rate cuisine, treat yourself to amazing seafood paired with local wines, riverside with sweeping views of Amsterdam’s cool architecture and bustling streets. Just a short walk from some of the best luxury shopping, as well as an expansive collection of Europe’s finest modern and contemporary art museums, your stay in a spa hotel promises to set you up for a dream vacation in the Netherland’s cool capital.

The Hague & Rotterdam: Beautiful views & iconic architecture

© nhow Rotterdam In a classic spa hotel in The Hague or Rotterdam, relax in the Netherland’s 2nd and 3rd largest cities within beautiful interiors with views of dynamic & modern skylines. The Hague boasts a classically Dutch color palette; with brightly colored flowers in the foreground and a rich blue sky hanging above red and beige brick buildings. Situated on the North Sea, The Hague is a great option for those looking for a restful vacation punctuated with stops at fun beach cafes and bars, and maybe a trip to the top of the famous SkyView Pier ferris wheel built over the sea. Rotterdam offers its own pretty canal system as well as a series of iconic architecture, like the Erasmusbrug bridge and the Cube houses. A riverside or seaside hotel in either one of these beautiful cities offers spa facilities, luxurious interiors, and magnificent views over sprawling waterscapes.

West Frisian Islands: Undisturbed bliss on Terschelling

With long-windowed views over pretty terrain and the open North Sea, the West Frisian Islands are a unique and amazing way to vacation. At a spa hotel right by the beach on Terschelling, the only good reason to leave the comfort of marvelous interiors or the in-house spa center is for a walk on the romantic beaches of the North Sea’s coast. One of the most beautiful and unspoiled places in the Netherlands, the warm sea air of Terschelling will surround you while you lounge on the beach or bike along the 50 miles of bike paths. For a walk around the impressive dunes and views of the Wadden Sea from its most beautiful side, trek to the Noordsvaader Nature Reserve, situated on the southwest of the island. Return to your spa hotel for afternoon yoga on the beach and an amazing massage with a view.

Good to know

Getting there: From London to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague, there are multiple relatively cheap nonstop flights that last just around an hour. As for Terschelling: to reach your spa hotel on the beach, you can fly into the Amsterdam or Rotterdam Airport, and then take the 3 to 4-hour train from there to the ferry station, Harlingen. The ferry lasts almost 2 hours and is a quite beautiful ride. Upon arrival on the island, there are local buses that’ll take you directly to your hotel in 15 minutes. Although it may seem like a bit of a trek, it’ll be well worth it when you make it to your quiet beach on the car-free island of Terschelling.
