Historical Hotel: Charming 15th century manor house
The rustic country house dates from the 15th century. Built in 1400, the hotel is situated on a 400-acre plot amid unspoilt nature. It is located in a region steeped in history - the municipality of Girona, which is packed full of fascinating monuments. Although the Hotel Finca El Ventos offers modern amenities, the old ’finca’ style has been retained and creates a charming rustic atmosphere.
Rural Hotel: Natural construction within a national park
The hotel is not only located amid beautiful and unspoiled nature, it is also constructed mainly from natural materials. Stone walls, terracotta floors, wood panelling and wooden furniture lend the hotel a rustic appeal and ensure that it blends harmoniously into its natural surroundings. A beautiful garden with a lawn invites guests to linger and relax surrounded by cacti and other plants specific to the region. Magnificent views of the surrounding wooded hills and mountains can be enjoyed from the hotel’s many terraces.

Although the building itself is old, the rooms are very modern and functional in style. The rooms are spacious, featuring a balcony and large bathroom with bathtub. Flat-screen TVs and a free minibar are standard in each. There is free WiFi throughout the house. In summer, the outdoor pool is inviting for a dip, while the large lawn is perfect for relaxing in the sun. The room rate includes breakfast, which is served buffet style. It includes varied cold and hot dishes, with a focus on regional specialities. Guests booking half board can choose to have either lunch or dinner (in set menu form) included; those booking full board have both. The restaurant menu is constantly changing because the emphasis is on fresh, seasonal produce and delicious regional specialities, whether fish or meat, with modern influences. The hotel’s extensive wine cellar, which guests are welcome to visit, is also particularly impressive. Meals are served either in the dining room or on the sunny terrace. A children’s menu is available on request.

Bookworms can spend hours browsing the Hotel Restaurante El Ventós library or take a book out to the lawn to read while enjoying the sun. The 11 metre-long outdoor swimming pool is great for lane swimming. Massages can be organised on request. The hotel is ideally located for excursions into La Garrotxa National Park. Whether you want to go climbing, hiking, hunting, horseback riding, mountain biking or cycling, the front desk can assist in planning trips. Balloon flights high over the Pyrenees can also be organised in the area, and an 18-hole golf course is 56km away. Girona, some 40km from the hotel, is well worth a visit for its historic old town, beautiful churches and cathedrals, shopping and vibrant nightlife.

Hotel Restaurante El Ventós is located at an altitude of 840m in the mountains of Garrotxa National Park in the north-east of Catalonia. Its unique setting allows for wonderful views of the Pyrenees and, on clear days, the Mediterranean Sea. The impressive national park comprises 11 municipalities within about 120km² and includes more than 40 inactive volcanoes and 20 lava flows. The forest is directly adjacent to the 400-acre hotel grounds, with the mountains rising just 100m away. The nearest town, Girona, with its international airport, is around 40km from the hotel.
