Hotel description
If you like a cool room design that connects architecture and art, then you’ll love your room at the Boutique Hotel Helvetia. You’re guaranteed a really comfortable stay in one of these 37 confidently elegant rooms. In addition to the guest rooms there’s also a rooftop bar, a pool bar right next to the river and a restaurant that has been awarded 14 Gault Millau points.
City hotel: Central location & legendary bar
The hotel is situated in the heart of Zurich with views over the Sihl, a tributary of the Limmat river. The main train station is just 500m away. On foot you can also easily reach the neighboring up-and-coming artists’ district Chreis 4 with its bars, restaurants and clubs. The Helvetia doesn’t just have a central location but is also a key landmark for the city’s trendy crowd. The Helvti Bar is one of Zurich’s legendary nightlife spots. In the 1970s and 80s it was a regular meeting place for intellectuals, artists and revolutionaries. Still today the bar is a popular hangout and a relaxed spot for either a nightcap or your first drink of the night before you head to the club.
Gourmet hotel: Swiss traditions with an international flavor
The hotel restaurant, popular also with the locals, is run by Diego von Büren. Regularly receiving top awards from Gault Millau, he has earned himself a place amongst Zurich’s top gourmet chefs, attracting demanding diners all over the city with her creative cross-over cuisine which combines Swiss traditions with Mediterranean influences.
Design hotel: Elegant design & contemporary museum space
The boutique hotel with its 35 rooms and 2 business apartments on the top floor is a true jewel in the heart of Zurich. The rooms are spread over two adjacent buildings. 16 rooms are located in the main building. The furnishing concept was designed by renowned interior designers of Atelier Zürich. 21 rooms are located in a neighboring building and were designed by the architects Leopold Weinberg and Nele Dechmann. The hotel’s design captivates with its successful blend of classic Art Nouveau elements and modern interior.
Eating & drinking: Award-winning cuisine & cool bars
The day at Helvetia starts with a relaxed and high quality breakfast in the bar. The hotel’s own gourmet restaurant is open daily from 6.30 pm, and on weekdays also at lunchtime between 11.30 am and 2:00 pm. Enjoy the latest creations from the kitchen team sitting on olive green leather sofas at tables set in white. Afterwards you descend a spiral staircase down to the bar for a drink at its beautiful, long wooden counter. When the weather is fine, you can choose between the pool bar and the garden terrace directly on the banks of the Sihl.
Location: Zurich on foot & by tram
The Boutique Hotel Helvetia is housed in a historic corner building just a short stroll from the banks of the Sihl. It’s just 10 minutes on foot to the main train station and the trendy artists’ district of Chreis 4. Pretty much on the doorstep is Stauffacherplatz which has plenty of trams running in all directions.
