The name of the Parkhotel Schönbrunn refers to one of the most important attractions in the Austrian capital. Why? Because the famous Schönbrunn Palace is situated directly opposite. Befitting of its stately neighbor, the Parkhotel boasts a historic and opulent design together with the most modern of hotel facilities. Its total of just over 300 guest rooms, ranging from the Classic Rooms to the Imperial Suite, wow guests with their successful blend of modern simplicity and historic flair. In addition, you’ll also find an excellent restaurant with conservatory and outdoor terrace, a café in a typical Viennese coffee house style and a cozy bar. The historic ballroom is really special, providing a magical setting for parties and events of all kinds. Since November 2014, ATH Parkhotel Schönbrunn is a proud holder of the Austrian Ecolabel for tourism operators.
Over its 200-year history, today’s Austria Trend Parkhotel Schönbrunn has developed a reputation for being something of an institution among Vienna’s first-class hotels, something that it has successfully maintained until today. The recent renovation has combined the charm of this old house with today’s high standards. For example, the rooms are all about exclusivity and focus on quality rather than quantity. In line with current lifestyle trends, the historic feel is not over the top, rather subtly worked in with high-quality, antique and stylish accents. Elegant patterned wallpaper, comfortable period furniture and original art work create an all-round pleasant feel in a generously sized living space. Even the smallest rooms are 27sqm.
The story of this historic city hotel dates back to the end of the 18th century when it was a simple inn. It turned into a well-known café with dance hall, before eventually becoming the present hotel building in the style of a Baroque palace with a large ballroom at the start of the 20th century. Almost unchanged from the outside, inside has been brought tastefully up to date. The glamor of the building will instantly put you in the right mood for a Vienna city break. Last but by no means least, you’ll love the views over the historic surroundings and the hotel park from many of the rooms, the conservatory and the Gloriette Bar.
This hotel is ideal for a romantic breakaway or a honeymoon if you love the glamorous lifestyle of yesteryear. The Parkhotel Schönbrunn was designed as a grand hotel for high society. When you enter the reception with its dark wood and marble checkerboard flooring you’ll instantly feel like you’ve gone up in the world!
In the morning guests can choose between a lavish breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant Maria Theresa or an a-la-carte breakfast in the recently opened Schloss-Café. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant serves Austrian and international cuisine. Meals are served in a stylishly furnished dining room and in summer also on the terrace. In the hotel bar you can enjoy cocktails and spirits from around the world in an equally young and contemporary setting.
One of the undoubted highlights of the surrounding area is of course the Schönbrunn Palace with its beautiful gardens, the perfect place for a morning jog. The Schönbrunn Zoo is also situated on the grounds and is the world’s oldest public zoo.
As a former inn used by the Emperor, the hotel is situated right next to the Schönbrunn Palace. The U4 subway station "Hietzing" is right in front of the door.
