The rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter than those overlooking the street
Mariahilfer Straße 15
Set in a beautiful old building in the center of Vienna, this city hotel more than lives up to its name: It is small but in every respect a luxury hotel. Das Tyrol offers a total of 30 guestrooms with a fanciful yet cozy atmosphere. The same goes for the public areas including the spa and breakfast room. Perfectly integrated into the interior design are numerous contemporary works of art including modern art paintings and unusual sculptures.
Design hotel: Art, design & a warm welcome
What makes the Boutiquehotel Das Tyrol really nice is the balanced mix of art, design and a warm welcome in wood and warm colors. Already on arrival, you admire the sculpture made of porcelain leaves in gold and white on glass bead cords. The newly restored rooms feature herringbone parquet. The color scheme focusses on the color taupe with accents of dark orange and terracotta. Designer lamps by Oasis provide sophisticated lighting effects. The owner Helena Ramsbacher is an art collector and personally selected art work for each room and throughout the hotel. For the most part, the artworks were created by contemporary artists from Vienna.
City hotel: Everything you need
Aside from its wonderful atmosphere, the Boutiquehotel Das Tyrol also offers everything you’d expect from a modern city hotel. From the bathroom with hairdryer, scales and a large mirror to the room amenities (air conditioning, high-speed wireless internet access, satellite TV, radio, telephone, safe, minibar, tea & coffee by Nespresso) everything is available. Additional services include a car park, laundry service and complimentary use of the sauna and steam room. The location also makes it ideal for a stress-free stay in Vienna: You are right on the Mariahilfer Straße shopping street and the Museum Quarter.
Food & drink: Tasty breakfast in an arty setting
From 6.30am a quality breakfast buffet with plenty of choice is laid out in the inviting breakfast room. Here you’ll find fresh bread, fruit salad, cheese and cold meats, as well as various fruit juices. You can also order eggs cooked however you like them. The Boutiquehotel Das Tyrol is run as a Bed & Breakfast but nearby you’ll find a wide range of dining options whatever your favorite kind of food is.
Leisure & sport: Completely private spa
After exploring the city you can literally dive into the small spa in the basement. Two huge saltwater aquariums will make you feel like you’re underwater. Guests can use the sauna, steam room and light shower in a room that’s decorated with glittering golden mosaics. You can also have the place all to yourself if you book in advance.
Location: Right at the heart of it
Das Tyrol is situated directly on one of Austria’s most popular shopping streets, the Mariahilfer Straße. Directly opposite is the Vienna Museumsquartier. Also, the Hofburg, the Kärntnerstraße and St. Stephen’s Cathedral are easily reached on foot.
