First opened in 1914, the hotel underwent a 5-year renovation before re-opening in 2009 with the finest modern facilities, fixtures, and fittings. Taking care to preserve the original architecture of the building, the Poseidonion Grand Hotel has stayed true to its traditions as a luxury getaway for international visitors. Guests have always enjoyed the hotel’s incredible location by the Damia Port, and its view of the bright blue waters surrounding the island, but the renovation also brought an entirely new level of luxury to the hotel experience. The day begins with a delicious breakfast buffet of warm and cold dishes, and continues with meals served at the Poseidonion Grand Hotel’s two in-house restaurants. The first, ‘On The Verandah’, offers a menu of light and tasty specialities from the Peloponnes region and an airy, summery atmosphere. The more dramatic ‘Freud Oriental’ serves mainly Asian and Japanese-inspired creations, using regional produce. There are also light bites such as burgers, sandwiches and salads available from the hotel bar, as well as a wide range of original cocktails.

A small spa invites guests to relax between the hours of 10am to 8pm daily, with a trip to the sauna, the Hammam or with a professional massage and Asian-inspired spa treatment. Among the activities available on the island, absolutely recommended is the option of a bicycle tour around the island’s gorgeous landscape, with bicycles available to rent directly from the hotel. The Poseidonion Grand Hotel is located on the promenade of Spetses’s main harbour, just a short walk from the ferry dock. It has a fantastic view of the main square, with its statue of the famous lady pirate captain Bouboulina.
