The modern rural hotel is housed in a former “tafona”, that is, an olive oil mill. In addition to a total of 28 guest rooms, it features a restaurant, a bar, a lounge with a hearth and a terrace with an enchanting view of the S’Aucadena and Castell mountains. In summer, a swimming pool invites guests to the garden with an equally fantastic mountain view. In the winter, a small wellness area with a sauna, indoor pool and jacuzzi is available for relaxation.

The location alone is extremely romantic: the grounds around the Rural S’Olivaret on the outskirts of the Sierra Tramuntana is unusually beautiful even for Mallorcan standards. The hotel is perfectly embedded in the foothills of this central mountain range and offers breath-taking views, particularly from the terrace and the outdoor pool. The hotel buildings themselves also exude romance with sandstone walls and tiled roofs.

The Rural S’Olivaret is firmly tied to the traditions and history of its surrounding. In the center of the island, the clocks run even slower than in the more populated coastal towns. The landscape around the hotel is marked by picturesque mountains, holly oak forests, olive groves and fields. A paradise for excursions – on foot, on bicycle or with a mountain bike! Guest rooms and other spaces are furnished to match the building in a nostalgic rural style. The large lounge bar with antique furnishings arranged around the old olive press is particularly beautiful.

Food plays a central role at the Rural S’Olivaret. Head chef Luis González conjures up modern versions of traditional Mediterranean specialties to the table. Depending on the weather, these imaginative creations can be enjoyed in a glass-walled panorama restaurant or on the terrace, both with breath-taking views of the mountains. Service is very friendly yet unobtrusive and flexible.
Athletics & Leisure: Swimming & Paddle tennis in a dream setting
Quiet and relaxation, good food and nature are the main attractions at the Rural S’Olivaret. Both inside and out, the hotel offers countless nooks for undisturbed reading and dreaming – each one more beautiful than the next. On the terrace, for example, you can sit in a rocking chair for ours beneath a venerable olive tree and look out into the distance. The pool and the hotel’s own paddle tennis court offer a magical mountain and forest panorama. If this gets you in the mood to explore the area, rental bicycles are available directly in the hotel. There are also excellent hiking trails for all levels. An excursion to the Castell d’Alaró is absolutely recommended.
Location: Between village & mountain massif
Surrounded by rugged mountain walls and evergreen forest, the Rural S’Olivaret is located on the western end of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range. About four kilometers to the south is Alaró, a typical Mallorcan village with lots of historical charm. The weekly Saturday market on the main square here is not to be missed.
