Where liberal revolutionaries once sat in dungeons, people now sleep in comfortable beds. The concept is fantastic and thought-provoking. Over the years, the place of bondage has been carefully redesigned, including subtle and obvious references to everyday prison life. By the way: The restaurant is called "Wasser & Brot ", but the menu is much more varied then just water and bread and you should not miss an evening here.

A former prison with massive brick architecture and a colossal, historic design vocabulary, massive windows and doors combined with modern design and a 10m high glass façade, the former prison cells were connected to 38 extraordinary rooms and suites, thick stone walls, exposed wooden beams and steel doors remained, elegant oak floors, leather furniture in a chic vintage style, bespoke design interior and playful accessories and came, the former prison was restored according to the plans of the design office Knoblauch
Historic Hotel
Built in the 1840s as a prison, the former cells are now hotel rooms and suites, the prison garden is an urban gardening project, the prison was designed by the Baden architect Heinrich Hübsch as part of the judicial reform of Grand Duke Leopold of Baden with the aim of providing prisoners with more humane accommodation, after completion, in the first years following the French and Baden Revolutions, mainly political prisoners and revolutionaries were imprisoned
