Hotel & rooms After several changes of owners and tenants the Hotel Greif was acquired 1816 by the Staffler Family, who restored it completely in the years from 1993 and 1999 from the viennese architecht Boris Podrecca, to finally reopen in 2000 as a modern design hotel. In the whole hotel traditional and modern elements harmonise perfectly. Each room of the Hotel Greif is an experience in itself, The 33 rooms have been furnished with loving attention to detail and individually designed to feature original works of art by contemporary artists. Soft, hand-woven Iranian Gabbeh carpets are placed on oiled and waxed dark brown Wengé wood flooring. The modern furnishing made from local maple or burr walnut blends pleasingly with original furniture from the old Hotel Greif. The best Italian weaving mills supplied custom-made fabrics and silk curtains. The individual bathrooms executed in seven different types of marble vary in size, design and furnishings.

The Cocktail Bar Grifoncino with its deco furnishings and sophisticated audio-video installations is one of Bolzano’s most popular night time hot spots. The colors and the ambience in the bar change according the type of guests at any one time, the choice of music and time of day. Unusual cocktail creations and vintage lounge music lead townspeople and Bolzano enthusiasts on a culinary journey around the world in a space of just 60 m². The Grifoncino barman Christian Gruber is also cosmopolitan and has perfected his art in trendy bars from Milan to London.
