All 16 apartments and six small rooms are comfortably furnished and have an Italian country-house charm. A restaurant, a wine cellar with over 40 wines, a large garden and on-site tennis and basketball courts complete the hotel. The historic building was restored in 2010 and is located in the heart of Tuscany, near Siena.
Historical: Medieval estate on a hillside with cozy apartments
Hotel Borgo Il Poggiaccio Residence is located in a medieval building from the 14th century. Classic elements are combined with modern elegance. Quarrystone walls contrast attractively with whitewashed walls. Fireplaces and wrought-iron tables and bed frames, as well as Terracotta floors emphasize the traditional charm of the rooms. Comfortable sofas in bright colors and delicately patterned fabrics provide comfort and country-house atmosphere. The hotel was built in the middle ages on a spectacular hillside, so that many spots offer beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside.

16 apartments of various sizes are available. All are comfortably furnished and can accommodate up to seven people. The facilities include a kitchenette, separate bathroom, one to three bedrooms and a living room. Some have a private fireplace and a private terrace. Rural charm is everywhere: the old walls have been lovingly emphasized in many places, contrasting with the bright, comfortable sofas and beds. The six double rooms offered by the hotel are located in one apartment, so that these guests can jointly use a living room and a kitchen.

Restaurant La Cantina del Poggiaccio has been designed in a medieval style, and is located in the atmospheric vaulted cellar of the venerable building. Old walls and chandeliers, arches and classic wooden furniture create a cozy ambience. Typical Tuscan dishes made with fresh meat, fish and vegetables are on the menu. The kitchen team favors ingredients from the region. House specialties include homemade pasta and wild boar ragout. In summer, guests on the terrace next to the pool can enjoy dinner by candlelight, with quiet piano music. In the wine bar, more than 40 wines are available on the menu. Guests can also participate in a wine tasting and guided tour of the wine cellar. In a cooking class, which takes place in the hotel’s restaurant, you can learn to prepare regional specialties.

A 225-acre swimming pool is located in the hotel’s garden, and stands out attractively in front of the medieval building. All around it, a spacious sun terrace spreads out, with sun umbrellas and sunbeds. If you like, you can book a classic massage. If you would prefer to play sports, however, you can train at the hotel’s own tennis courts, on the basketball court or at the ping pong tables. The region around the hotel offers many options for leisure activities. There are some bike rental shops in the surrounding area, for mountain biking through the picturesque hills of Tuscany.

The hotel was built on a hillside, so that from here you can enjoy a magnificent view over the surrounding landscape. Siena is about 20 km away. The next village Sovicille is located eight km away and can also be reached by public transport. A bus stop is located just a few meters from the hotel.
