This luxury hotel wows guests with its surprising mix of a historic palazzo building dating back to the 19th century and a contemporary interior design. Against a backdrop of exposed sandstone walls, interior designer Francesc Rifé has created a grand design from Bauhaus, Zen and lounge-style elements that, despite its modern feel, blends in seamlessly with this architectural monument. Each room has been individually designed but they all feature ornate frescoed ceilings, heavy wooden beams and stylish designer furniture. The Caro Hotel’s original but grand ambiance dominates through all of its 26 exclusive rooms and excellent gourmet restaurant.
City: Central location, staying in a monument
The Caro Hotel is ideal for a city break to Valencia. It boasts a really central location just 500m from the cathedral. Plus it is also housed within the Palacio Marqués de Caro, an attraction in itself: in many of the guest rooms and communal spaces you’ll find artifacts and architectural elements from the original 2000-year-old building including pre-Christian mosaics, parts of the Arabic city walls, Gothic arches and frescoed ceilings from the 19th century.
Design: From antiquity to the 21st century
In stunning contrast to its sometimes really old architecture, the interior spaces have been finished with elegant designer furniture in smooth shapes and muted colors. The elegant, minimalist design means that the cleverly placed artifacts and architectural features always take center stage.
Luxury: 5 star right down to the little details
The Caro Hotel has well and truly earned its 5 stars. The service is professional and exceptionally friendly. In addition to its stylish ambiance and latest room technology, it’s the small details that set it apart. In the bathroom you’ll find Bulgari toiletries and guests are also treated to a well-stocked complimentary minibar.
Eating & drinking: Own restaurant and plenty more to choose from nearby
Both at the luxury hotel itself, and nearby, guests are spoiled for choice for dining out. Your day begins with a delicious breakfast. The excellent hotel restaurant in the basement serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist. There is also a good selection of restaurants and cafe terraces nearby, especially on the Plaza de la Virgen.
Sports & leisure: Relax after exploring the city
The hotel facilities are ideal for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. There are lots of little spots that have been well designed to allow you to just soak up the atmosphere of the historic building. Or sit back and relax on one of the furnished decked terraces or in the stylish cocktail bar.
Location: In the center of Valencia
The Caro Hotel has a really central location within walking distance of Plaza de la Reina where you’ll find the cathedral. The Silk Exchange (La Lonja de la Seda) is one of the most important attractions in Valencia and is just a 10-minute walk away.
