The Baros Maldives resort is located on an intimate paradise island, surrounded by palm trees, white sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. 75 private villas of sandstone and wood blend perfectly with the island´s unspoiled nature.
Private villas, acclaimed gourmet cuisine in three restaurants and an in-house spa provide pure luxury - enhanced by the resort’s stunning surroundings. The private coral island on which the resort is located offers pristine beaches and a house reef with a fascinating underwater world. Relaxation is guaranteed and the discreet staff are on-hand to help around the clock.
The spa is located at the heart of the island, surrounded by a lush tropical garden. Its private spa suites - each equipped with a steam bath, toilet, changing room and outdoor bath - are a special feature. Oriental, stone and Ayurvedic massages are offered alongside beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures and facials. The yoga and meditation classes, which can be undertaken in a group or with a private guru, are also very popular.
All the villas are lavishly equipped and elegant. They blend perfectly into the island’s natural surroundings: the villas were constructed by local builders using natural materials such as sandstone and timber. Large windows provide for bright rooms with plenty of natural light. The villas are modern and luxuriously equipped, featuring a rain shower and open-air bathroom, and with a private butler available 24 hours a day. Some also have a private pool. Restaurants serving gourmet cuisine, the highly acclaimed luxury spa and paradise island ambience ensure total relaxation.
The warm climate and heavenly scenery make the Maldives a popular destination for honeymooners. The resort’s seclusion is highly appreciated by couples seeking privacy. Special packages are available for couples who want to make use of the island’s romantic atmosphere and renew their marriage vows. The resort also offers many other romantic treats, such as candlelit dinner on the beach, couples massages at the spa, or atmospheric sunset boat trips.
A generous breakfast buffet with champagne and a show kitchen is served daily in Lime Restaurant. The restaurant and attached Lime Pool Bar also serve half-board guests Asian-influenced cuisine throughout the day. Alternatively, the Cayenne Grill is a great spot to enjoy delicious meat and fish dishes, or to sample the all-day Satay Bar. You can dine right on the water at the gourmet Lighthouse restaurant, which is located under the popular Lighthouse Lounge bar, with its generous wine list. Fine wines and cocktails can also be enjoyed with live music at Sails Bar, in the island’s interior. Meal times are flexible at the Baros Maldives resort, with a range of special dining experiences bookable: romantic candlelight dinners, picnics surrounded by nature (on the beach, for example), private dinners in your own villa or adventurous tasting menus aboard a traditional dhoni boat.
Guests can wear themselves out in the free in-house gym, before relaxing at the spa, with some yoga or by the pool. But the Indian Ocean itself provides the best and most exciting leisure activities on the island. The underwater world is rich in marine life. During diving or snorkelling trips you’ll discover beautiful corals, turtles, small sharks and uncountable colourful fish species, which the resident marine biologist will happily tell you more about at the island’s Marine Centre. There are also many other water sports available to try, including kayaking, canoeing, wakeboarding, water skiing and surfing, either with an instructor or independently. Excursions to nearby islands and deep sea fishing trips are also possible, both with a traditional dhoni boat or motor yacht.
Baros Maldives is located on a small private island in the North Male Atoll. Far from the smog and noise of the city, the 350m-long by 300m-wide island is around 25 minutes from the international airport via speedboat. Surrounded by the sparkling blue waters of the Indian Ocean, Baros Maldives occupies the entire island. As such, its beaches are totally private and the resort has its own house reef.
