The winding house has historic Italian charm, with centuries-old vaulted ceilings and ivy-covered brick walls, terracotta floors and glass inlays, wrought-iron gates and acres of leafy gardens; the excellent Italian restaurant, run by Michelin-starred chef Pietro Leemann, serves candlelit meals on the veranda in summer and by the fireplace in the colder months
