Very good but would like to make the following suggestions. 1. Access to the swimming pool rather difficult for older people. 2. A more comfortable lounge would be appreciated. 3. Whilst the food was excellent it was rather expensive resulting in most guests eating out. Some slightly less expensive food options would be good to balance the menu.

Hotel description

The village of Brtonigla on the Croatian peninsula of Istria only has about 1,500 inhabitants, which gives it its magical Mediterranean charm. When you walk around the village, and explore the San Rocco itself, you could be forgiven for thinking that you were actually in Italy: The area is known for its wine production and olive groves. The style of the hotel and the food served here are closely linked to the agriculture and lifestyle of the region. Its restaurant serves regional gourmet cuisine, and guests can sample local wines accompanied by typical specialties in the vinotheque.
Historic: Stylish joie de vivre against a rustic backdrop
Today, the San Rocco is hotel whose roots go way back in the history of this agricultural peninsula. Today’s hotel building once served as a home, barn and sheds. In 2004 the entire property was restored and renovated by the Fernetich family. Organic products like wine, vinegar and olive oil are produced on the surrounding land which still belongs to the property.
