The Parador is located in a palace in the middle of the Old Town of the capital of the Zamora province. Today’s historic hotel in Spain was built around the mid 15th century on the foundations of a former Roman fortification. Inside its ancient, meter-thick walls much attention to detail has been paid in order to create an ambience, which immediately stops you in your tracks: genuine armory, exposed beamed ceilings and romantic four poster beds create an inspiring atmosphere. Take a wander up and down the stone staircases and along the corridors at the Parador de Zamora, past antique coats of arms and elaborate wall tapestries and you will feel as if you have been transported back into the secret world of the middle ages. Via a glassed gallery you will arrive at the wonderful courtyard of the romantic hotel, which has a contemporary architectural style – it is reminiscent of the High Architecture of the Renaissance. In the garden you will eventually find yourself unmistakably back in the present, as here there is a stylish swimming pool with loungers for guests of the Parador de Zamora.

The guest rooms at the Parador de Zamora are distributed between the historic part of the building and a modern extension. All of the rooms of the historic hotel are comfortable, typically Spanish and very well maintained. Furthermore they have all been equally lovingly and invitingly decorated. Because of their particularly charming overall atmosphere it’s definitely worth booking a room in the historic wing of the building. Bold use of wood, oiled parquet flooring and complimentary colors fill the rooms with a pleasant atmosphere, in which you will automatically feel at home. The rooms at this romantic hotel in Spain also offer lots of space and beautiful views, either of the town, the surrounding countryside or the historic hotel property.
The cuisine
If you would like to try the home-made cuisine of the Castilian region then you should definitely dine at the restaurant in the Parador de Zamora. Some of the specialties which come particularly highly recommended include stuffed roast veal (Presas de ternera), fish and rice dishes made according to local recipes and for dessert the almond custard.
