The Parador de Lerma
The Parador de Lerma is located up in the highest part of the city. The ducal palace, which now houses the historic 4 star hotel, was built on the stone foundations of a castle from the 15th century. Designed by the famous architect Francisco de Mora, the Parador de Lerma was built at the beginning of the 17th century and once served King Philipp III as a refuge and sanctuary. The beautiful building is truly fit for a king. A central courtyard, surrounded by 40 Tucson and Ionic columns, forms the center of this 4 star hotel in Spain. Four impressive towers with sharp gables mark the corners of the complex. Numerous vaults in the ceilings line the long hallways, and exquisite heavy carpets cover the stone floors.

The 4 star hotel Parador de Lerma provides 39 guestrooms. Each room is different, depending on their location in the castle. However, they all share a sophisticated design and are all furnished with elegant furniture, fine materials and select decorations. The historic atmosphere is maintained here as well through the stone floors, slanted wood roofs and antiques. As a 4 star hotel, the rooms also provide modern facilities as well as TV and internet access.
