Are you looking for an elegant Florence Hotel? Florence, the cultural capital of Tuscany, is surrounded by beautiful hills. It is on one of the most beautiful of these hills where you will find, located between the Monastery of Certosa and the Ponte Vecchio, the small yet wonderful Florence Hotel Marignolle Relais & Charme. The Relais is situated to the south west of Florence, overlooking the town center, which can easily be reached in a couple of minutes by car. Thanks to the excellent transport connections of the Florence Hotel, from here you can easily and quickly reach not only Florence but also the Chianti region with wonderful places such as Siena, Volterra or San Gimignano.
Pool and Garden
Like the rest of this romantic Boutique Hotel near Florence, the garden has been charmingly and perfectly designed with cypresses, pine, almond and peach trees. The swimming pool with its large sun terrace is open between May and October and is situated just a few steps down from the house. Whilst the rooms are absolutely tranquil, from the pool you can only slightly hear the street situated 300 meters away. Our stay certainly wasn’t spoilt by it and it definitely did not detract from the special charm of the Marignolle Relais & Charme Florence.
Rooms
When you enter the reception area of the charming Relais, its cozy style will remind you more of a tasteful and luxurious private apartment than a Boutique Hotel. The Hotel Marignolle Relais & Charme Florence offers six spacious twin-bedded rooms, which have been very elegantly decorated to a top quality standard. With its central position, the salon with its open fireplace also offers a wonderful view over the garden of the Relais. The atmosphere is luxurious but not stuffy, of high class but not cold. The rooms differ in their form as well as the selection of furniture. Antique decorative objects, prints from the 19th century and small art objects create an exquisite atmosphere. All of the rooms of the Boutique Hotel are air-conditioned, sound-proofed and have satellite TV, a direct dial phone and internet connection. The mixture of luxury and comfort can be best seen in the bathrooms: two wash basins in white Carrara marble and flooring made from high quality cabreuva vermelha parquet create an elegant but at the same time warm and inviting atmosphere.
Parking and safety
The Relais has a car park which is only accessible for authorized persons through an electronic gate with video intercom. The car park and the entire grounds are hedged.
Interior design
The unique charm of the Marignolle Relais & Charme near Florence all becomes clear when you hear the history behind the owners. Poala and Claudio Bulleri were previously successful in the fashion industry. Together with their son Lorenzo they realized their dream five years ago by turning this Florence Hotel Marignolle Relais & Charme into a really special place. The elegantly luxurious and at the same time held back elegant style of the family has influenced the Relais in a particular way. There are only a few hotels, in which every single detail of the interior design works together in harmony with the rest at the highest of levels – the Relais Marignolle Relais & Charme Florence definitely belongs in this group.
Cuisine
As soon as the weather allows it breakfast is served in the large garden pavilion. Guests of the Boutique Hotel Marignolle Relais & Charme near Florence can choose between a continental breakfast with mouthwatering fresh bread rolls or croissants, jams from the region as well as home made items and an American breakfast with scrambled egg and cheeses and hams. Otherwise the family also serves small but fine cuisine such as salads and pastas at lunchtimes and dinner times. Meals are served on high quality porcelain and with silver cutlery. In the rooms there is also a tea and coffee making machine, a well-stocked mini bar and a selection of champagnes and wines, which can be enjoyed in absolute relaxation on the veranda or under the canopy. If you want to dine at a restaurant in Florence you will need a car or to take a taxi. A cozy and equally enjoyable alternative is the small tavern with Tuscan specialties, situated within an easy 3 minute walk away.
Familiar but not imposing
The Bulleri family welcomes Relais guests to join their small and almost private idyll. The very charming and eloquent son Lorenzo helps guests by giving tips for restaurants, exhibitions or by reserving entrance tickets (to save you having to wait in the lengthy queues). Paola runs a Tuscan cookery course for Florentine specialties and Claudio is the best person to ask about the three beautiful golf courses in the surrounding area: the Golf Club dell’Ugolino, the more technical Golf Course Poggio dei Medici as well as the beautiful Golf Course Le Pavoniere. The Bulleris also live in the grounds in a stylish house next to the Relais. The description of the atmosphere at the Marignolle Relais & Charme, “familiar but not imposing”, is true to its word.
Non smokers, no pets and cleanliness
The Relais is only for non smokers and furthermore no pets are allowed at the Marignolle Relais & Charme Florence. It goes without saying but should be emphasized that the Boutique Hotel Marignolle Relais & Charme Florence is extremely clean. Alongside the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms this applies also to the air: the air in the rooms is changed after every guest departs with an air purification system – a service that we had not seen in another hotel before our visit to the Hotel Marignolle Relais & Charme Florence.
