From the hotel, it is just a 10 minute walk to the world famous Hagia Sophia, lively Arasta Bazaar, Basilica Cistern, Hippodrome and nearest tram station. The nightlife district of Istiklal Avenue, with its countless shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, is also nearby. Boutique Hotel: Oriental opulence meets modern classical style
All of the hotel’s 17 rooms and public areas have been newly decorated in a modern classical style. The double, superior and triple rooms are impressively furnished with Baroque features - with tastefully contrasting colour schemes such as turquoise and white, or black and white - and include very large, comfortable beds. They are equipped with air conditioning, minibar, safe, free Wifi access, a flat-screen TV with international channels, a kettle for tea and coffee, and comfortable seating. In the bathrooms, which feature rain showers, guests will find slippers, bathrobes, hairdryer and toiletries. The hotel also provides free bottled water daily.
Bed & Breakfast: Breakfast amid the ruins of an old palace
The breakfast room, with its rich buffet, dazzles with contemporary style. All dishes are freshly prepared, including omelette cooked to request, and accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade bread, tea and coffee. The buffet includes hot and cold continental and local dishes, as well as cereal, nuts, fruits, cakes, sausage, cheese, yogurt and more. Special nutritional needs are also catered for on request. Breakfast is included in the room rate. However, the special feature of the breakfast room is the architecturally integrated ruins of the nearby Boukoleon Palace, over whose foundations the hotel was built.

The hotel itself offers a breakfast buffet with a large selection and personalised service. Food and drink can also be enjoyed on the roof terrace, which features comfy garden furniture and relaxing views of the sea, harbour and historic centre. There is no bar within the hotel. However, the convenient location of the Katelya Hotel means there is an abundance of good restaurants, cafes and bars in the immediate vicinity, as well as in the easily accessible port area or centre of Istanbul. Istiklal Avenue, in particular, offers extensive dining options.
Sport & Leisure: Museums, mosques and Sea of Marmara
Spa services, including saunas and hammam baths, are available in the vicinity of the hotel. The True Blue Beach water sports facility is approximately 23km away, while all other beaches are at a distance of 40-60km. Key sights, such as the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar, are in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The famous Topkapi Palace is just 900m walking distance, along with many other palaces, museums, libraries and mosques. The "Sultan Ahmet" tram stop is just 700m from the hotel, from where trams take you straight to the centre. Eminönü harbour, with its promenade and boat trips on the Bosphorus, is definitely worth a visit. Romantic balloon and carriage rides are also possible nearby.

All of Istanbul’s major attractions can be reached quickly on foot or by public transport from the hotel. The Katelya Hotel’s location in a side street of the historic Sultanahmet district means that guests benefit from a central location, but at the same time enjoy peaceful surroundings. Sirkeci Train Station, from where the Orient Express departs, is about 1.7km from the hotel, while Ataturk International Airport is 18km away. Eminönü port is about 1.9km away and the famous Taksim Square, the heart of Istanbul, is approximately 5km. Business travellers attending conferences will find the CNR Expo Center 17.7km away along Kennedy Avenue.
