You won’t be able to get enough of this small castle with its bright sandstone walls, crimson wood windows and pointy slate roofs. The historic building dates back to the 19th century and has been masterfully restored. Its interior boasts a stylish mix of chateau romance and modern furnishings: in the public areas especially, like the entrance hall and the living room, you’ll sense the historic feel. The guest rooms are decorated in a distinctly modern but also in-keeping style and offer all the amenities you need.

Country hotel: Castle grounds beside the forest

Around the Château La Thuilière are park-like grounds with neatly trimmed lawns, mature trees like towering pines, and a small swimming pool. Here you can read and relax in absolute peace and quiet under a covered terrace or in a sunny spot. The property also boasts a beautifully secluded location and even has its own forest for walking or jogging. A few free-range chickens and sheep in the surrounding meadows complete the country feel.

Mansion: Aristocratic flair & modern comfort

Even as a hotel, this small chateau has retained much of its historic charm. Even just checking in is a fantastic experience, at an antique desk in the small, wood-paneled lobby. The living room too boasts an aristocratic flair with its red Chesterfield sofas and huge fireplace. The guest rooms, however, which come in sizes small, medium and extra-large, have a bright, trendy design. The modern room amenities include a Nespresso machine, bathrobe and a chic bathroom.

Boutique hotel: Private setting & personalized service

The Château La Thuilière is run by its Spanish owners Jordi and Eduard, who also restored this fairytale house with real passion. And they display just as much drive to please their customers. In keeping with the intimate, almost family-like atmosphere, dinner is served all together at a large table in the cozy dining room with fireplace. Even in high season, it’s pleasantly quiet and feels really private in the other areas too, for example by the pool in the garden or in the lounge where you can serve yourself at the bar. If you want to spend a few relaxing days in the countryside with family or friends, then the whole chateau can be booked, including all the services.

Food & drink: Delicious local cuisine

Depending on the weather, the delicious morning breakfast is served either in the garden or the dining room at a large wooden table. In the evening, a freshly prepared, multi-course menu is available. The fine French, but by no means fussy cuisine from the hotel chef is absolutely delicious. If you like you can also have a romantic table set up in the library and enjoy a private dinner together there

Location: In the heart of the Dordogne

The Château La Thuilière is situated on a magnificent estate at the edge of Saint-Front-de-Pradoux, a small village on the banks of the River L’Isle. From here there are a range of excursions you can take in the Dordogne and the Perigord. The hotel team will be happy to help you rent bikes or horses. The wine town of Bergerac is 30km away and is definitely worth a visit.
