Hotel description
This charming ski hotel with a novel concept was created by architect Alfred Waltl and features an open-plan design utilizing lots of local wood and natural stone, and with panoramic mountain views. The 50 rooms are cozy and comfortable, and creatively designed with high-quality furnishings. A restaurant, bar and small spa on the roof provide for relaxation. The hotel is just 300m from the Asitzbahn ski lift and perfectly located to enjoy all the area’s outdoor activities.
Ski Hotel: Located right on the slopes, après ski parties
All 50 rooms in mama thresl are scented with aromatic pine wood and feature natural stone showers and sinks. They also have a balcony with mountain views, seating area, solid wood furniture and modern technology. Each room has its own ski and bike locker in the basement, where an integrated dryer ensures feet and clothes are toasty warm in the morning. From the hotel, it is just a 5-10 minute walk to the Asitzbahn gondola, which whisks skiers and hikers to a 1,760m-high peak. Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski area is just 500m away, and offers a wide range of winter sports, including alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and winter hiking. Ski passes can be purchased in the hotel. After a day of fun on the slopes, guests can party in the IslandBar, where various live DJs ensure a club-like atmosphere on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The mama thresl Alpine hotel is not only a haven for sports enthusiasts - be it skiers in winter, or hikers and mountain bikers in summer - but also for families, honeymooners and anyone looking to hold an event or meeting in a pleasant and stimulating environment. The stylish yet homely ambience of the hotel will suit all tastes. The rooms are designed and furnished using traditional craftsmanship and natural materials, but in a modern style. They are equipped with free high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, iPod docking station, safe, hairdryer and bathrobe. Some rooms also include a free-standing bath and private roof terrace. The hotel’s "urbanSoul meets the alps" concept is especially evident in the open-plan design and contemporary style of the restaurant, lounge and bar area.
Eating & Drinking: Homemade tarte flambée, hearty grill and cocktails
The restaurant, open kitchen, lobby lounge and IslandBar merge into one space, which forms the heart of mama thresl. A rich breakfast, which includes hot and cold as well as regional dishes, awaits guests each morning in the restaurant. In the evening, the restaurant is open for casual "grill & chill" dinners, featuring traditional cuisine, homemade tarte flambée, steaks, burgers from the lava stone grill and salads. Right next to the bar, there is a 2-floor-high wine cooler and a climbing wall, leading to the Mountains’ Peak hideaway under the roof. On the roof terrace, guests can enjoy magical views of the mountains while relaxing on XXL seat cushions and deck chairs. During the day, mama thresl’s bakery offers delicious snacks, while the IslandBar serves refreshing drinks, coffee and tea, as well as bar classics and cocktails. The Skybar, directly in Asitz, is open during the ski season.
Relax: Sauna with mountain panorama
A small but perfectly formed spa area is spread over 120 square metres on the hotel roof. Here, guests can relax in the Finnish sauna while enjoying panoramic views of the Leogang Mountains. A relaxation room and sun terrace with loungers and parasols offer space to unwind.
Sport & Leisure: Skiing, spa, bike trips and excursions
Winter sports lovers are well catered for in the nearby ski area. 55 ultra-modern ski lifts and 200km of slopes will please speed demons, freeriders, leisurely carvers and snowboarders alike. In summer, biking and hiking trails stretch out into the countryside. The Flying Fox XXL and Leogang Bike Park are within easy reach. The Pinzgau area is also popular with geocachers. Before or after you venture outdoors, the small spa area invites relaxation. Yoga classes can be arranged on request, and the hotel rents out road and mountain bikes for a fee. Ski passes and equipment, tours and excursions can also be booked in the hotel. Lake Zell is 20km away, and the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, with its breathtaking views, is 37km away. The baroque city of Salzburg, 70km away, is a worthwhile day trip, with its castles, museums and churches.

The hotel is located on the main street in Leogang im Pinzgau. The Pinzgau is the most south-western region of the state of Salzburg. The state capital Salzburg, with its airport, is around 70km away. Leogang railway station is 800m from the hotel. The nearest town is Saalfelden, about 9km away, where guests will find entertainment and shopping.
