Located right in the heart of Arles’ ancient district, La Roquette, secretly hidden behind its large gates is the romantic 4 star hotel L’Hôtel Particulier. The historic building is the last private residence built in Arles by leading citizens.
History
The beautiful complex of ancient buildings is set around a spacious, leafy courtyard. This romantic hotel, dating back to the 18th-century, overflows with elegance and style. The owner of the 4 star hotel has tastefully and uniquely restored this historic property. L’Hotel Particulier is a hidden treasure in the Provence. The honeymoon hotel has a charming garden with shady trees, wooden loungers, bulging lemon trees and refreshing pool. There is a fountain in the pool and the sound of running water floats about. The city hotel is a great place to be at any time of day. History and elegance lovers will appreciate this 18th century old mansion, where the first owner’s prestige (Baron de Chartrouse) goes along with today’s comfort and sophistication.
Provence rooms
The 4 star hotel L’Hôtel Particulier has 8 magnificent bedrooms. Those in the main house of the romantic hotel boast high ceilings, airy white interiors and an understated dose of grandeur. Beautiful rooms are split between the main house and the old stables, two of the latter having sofas on private terraces. All rooms of the honeymoon hotel are equipped with shower/bath, toilet, radio, TV, direct-dial telephone, mini bar, safe, hairdryer. The honeymoon room is utterly enormous, with two sets of French windows, both of which open onto a private terrace that rolls out to the swimming pool. Inside there is a marble fireplace, four golden French armchairs and a matching sofa. In room “Zuber” you get four top-to-toe murals by the artist of the same name, ivory armchairs, polished wood floors, ancient radiators and big windows which give beautiful garden views. The three garden rooms of the romantic hotel are colorfully decorated in Moroccan style.
Eating according to the seasons
In summer, lovely French breakfast is served on the terrace. In winter, you take to the charming dining room of the romantic 4 star hotel. Dinner is available by arrangement and often has a delicious Moroccan influence. L’Hôtel Particulier recommends a reservation for their restaurant. But eating out in Arles is a great pleasure, too. The historic town is full of great restaurants and the staff of the honeymoon hotel L’Hôtel Particulier will happily advise and book tables.
Wellness
The city hotel has its own spa. Wind down the glass staircase to the old cellar and you find a smartly-decked sauna and a hammam in which rose petals are scattered in a trough of water. Californian massage, Ayurvedic massage and reflexology treatments are all available in the massage room of the historic hotel.
