City Hotel: The comeback of the city’s West
Until recently, guests looking for suitable accommodations with an innovative concept in the center of Berlin would certainly not have thought of the Zoo area. Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg would have been more obvious choices. But now the West is hip again, even more so than before. Just like its immediate neighborhood with Germany’s largest Apple store, the Hotel Zoo Berlin is celebrating a comeback. In the 50s and 60s it was the preferred residence of many worldwide stars in the film and music industries. A tour of the rooms recently renovated over the course of two years makes it clear that this could easily be the case again in the near future. A humorous reference to this fact is given by the flurry of flashbulbs set off upon entering the elevator.
Design Hotel: Modern glamour in global style
Anyone who enjoys stylish interior design which can withstand a second view will definitely not be disappointed by the Hotel Zoo Berlin. Wonderful multicolored brick walls, extravagant lamp creations and leather-upholstered Renaissance furniture create a wonderful balance of exclusivity and living comfort, perfectly adorned with unique glamour effects. For example, in the lobby there are giant, organically shaped decorative ornaments, opulently mantled ceiling lamps, a long designer chimney and an elegant reception desk of black-patterned marble. Rooms and suites themselves are presented in the same uniquely styled visual scheme. At the same time, charming details abound, such as the nostalgic telephone down to the water glasses, which all conform to the same style.
Food & Drink: Fine world cuisine & fantastic bar
In the course of the Hotel Zoo Berlin’s re-opening, the brand-new restaurant Grace also started business. Both the restaurant and connected bar are now in-demand newcomers on Berlin’s culinary scene. Creatively interpreted international gourmet cuisine is the focus here, as well as an international wine menu. It’s worth arriving a bit early and enjoying an aperitif at Grace Bar, or staying for a drink afterwards. Or both, even. This always well-visited bar has a grandiose ambience which ensures you will never get bored.

The Hotel Zoo Berlin is located directly on the Kurfürstendamm between Kranzler Eck and the Apple Store. The Memorial Church, KaDeWe and Europa Center are all just a brief walk away. The back side of the hotel has view through floor-length windows of the Theater des Westens.
