The Le Saint James | Hôtel d’architecte offers a total of 18 guest rooms in three categories, which have all been designed with modern interiors and offer views of the surrounding areas and of Bordeaux from impressively large windows. In the hotel’s own gourmet restaurant, Head Chef Nicolas Magie entices guests with his wonderfully creative dishes, making use of seafood when the season permits. Additionally, the hotel offers a cooking school where amateur chefs and others interested in cuisine can learn to cook simple dishes.

The Le Saint James | Hôtel d’architecte impresses guests with its first class service in truly unique surroundings. In 1989 Jean Nouvel added 4 pavilions to what was previously an 18th century farmhouse, making them look like the old rusty tobacco barns of the area. All 4 are perfectly suited to the historic main building and have been designed using minimalist interiors and modern furnishings. Even more extraordinary are the fantastic extras that the suites offer: one, for example, houses an authentic Harley Davidson in the living room, whilst another offers guests a whirlpool on its own private terrace.

From Tuesday to Saturday guests can enjoy the beautiful fine French cuisine of Nicolas Magie both for lunch and dinner in the hotel’s own restaurant. The Head Chef bases his recipes directly on the local weekly markets and special suppliers in the area. He has a particular penchant for seafood. Each of his dishes are also an optical piece of art, offering guests truly stunning cuisine. Guests can enjoy their beautiful dishes with an equally as impressive view over the hotel’s own vineyard.
Free time and sport: Cooking courses and swimming pool
The concept of this hotel comes mainly from the French style of living with exquisite cuisine and a good selection in the wine-cellar. On the 4 hectare estate the hotel even makes its own wine. Professionally guided wine tastings are possible at any time. The cooking school is lead by a sous-chef and offers guests cooking classes based on various themes. Another highlight is the heated swimming pool - with wooden decking suitable for sunbathing, the pool is large enough for a relaxing swim.
