Historic Hotel
The oldest part of the hotel is the Byzantine tower from the 6th century, which today houses the Osteria Pagliazza and the gourmet restaurant Santa Elisabetta; the tower is considered one of the oldest preserved buildings in Florence; in the vaults of the tower is the Museo della Pagliazza with the historic caldarium from Roman times and a collection of ceramics; one of the former owners of the building was the architect Brunelleschi, the creator of the dome of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore
