Hotel description

The 32 rooms of different categories are characterized by tasteful, high-quality modern interiors that have retained the charm of the hotel’s long tradition. Modern luxuries such as flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, refrigerator, safes for one’s valuables and private bathroom also belong to the facilities. In addition, historical elements such as wood furniture from the turn of the century, parquet flooring, paintings and drawings round out the individual flair of the rooms, depending on the room type. The 4-star ensemble is completed by a restaurant, where the emphasis is on fresh and authentic cuisine, and a small bistro.
Historic Hotel: between tradition and modernity
In 1912, the magnificent Grand Hotel Belle Vue was designed by the architect Alexis Dumont based on a triangular floor plan, whose corners were completed with towers. The glamorous and stylish appearance of the Belle Époque-style hotel has survived to this day. One of the most famous guests was Albert Einstein, who spent three months in Belgium in 1933, when he enjoyed the nice views of the city de Haan from the terrace of the Grand Hotel Belle Vue. After the hotel had been in the ownership of same family for decades, who made the hotel famous along the Belgian coast for its professional service and hospitality, since 2006 the stylishly renovated Grand Hotel Belle Vue has been under the leadership of the family de Groote.
Nature Hotel: North Sea, beach and forest close by
Grand Hotel Belle Vue is characterised by its central location in de Haan, the most beautiful seaside resort on the Belgian coast. From the sun terrace and private balconies, guests enjoy a wide view over the surrounding countryside and de Haan. Visitors can easily walk to the beach with its rugged dunes as well as the forest. The beautiful nature offers ample opportunities for sporting activities, sailing, horseback riding or golfing, long walks and relaxation in the fresh air.
Boutique Hotel: Stylish and refreshing ambience
The hotel’s authentic historical charm has been preserved over the decades and today blends contemporary luxury and elegance. The 32 rooms offer a modern and friendly interior, plenty of space and are very quiet despite the central location and the optimal accessibility of the hotel. In furnishing the hotel, the owners have placed emphasis on style and high-quality materials. A highlight is the large tower room, with its free-standing bath and a sitting area built into the wooden tower construction.
Food & drink: Authenticity and freshness in the kitchen
In the morning guests are met with a rich breakfast buffet, which is served on the terrace during nice weather. The hotel’s restaurant menu offers light and modern dishes, which are prepared with ingredients directly from the market, and freshly caught fish from the sea. You can watch the chefs attentively preparing the dishes over the shoulder, because the restaurant is only separated from the kitchen by a see-through wine rack. A multitude of quality wines is available. In the evening, the bistro Place Royale also welcomes guests as well as locals between 6 pm and 8:30 pm.
Sport & leisure time: Diverse activities at the sea
The North Sea Beach, the dunes and the forest, which are all within walking distance from the hotel, invite to various activities in the fresh air, including horse riding, windsurfing, kite surfing or sailing. Guests can explore the surroundings by bike or stroll along the beautiful beach promenade. Nearby, you can also play tennis and golf. Grand Hotel Belle Vue works with the Center Kadille-Wellness in Klemskerke, which has a sauna with steam bath and outdoor hot tub.
Location: Central and yet peaceful location
Grand Hotel Belle Vue is situated in the heart of the coastal town of de Haan and is easily reached by car or public transport. The expanded North Sea Beach is just a stone’s throw away. You can enjoy a wonderful view of the surroundings from the hotel’s sun terrace or balconies, with which some of the rooms are equipped. The medieval, Hanseatic city of Bruges is only 17 km away and features historic churches and romantic canals.
