Hotel description

Furnished from attic to cellar by successful Spanish interior designer Patricia Urquiola, this small hotel in Berlin’s Tiergarten district is a real treasure for the city, a wonderful, intimate design hotel that is innovative in unassuming, subtle ways. Transporting the era of the French salon into modern times, the designer has created a unique concept exclusively for this hotel. An elegant but private atmosphere where guests can meet and socialize is the central idea. Chic unique furniture pieces by Patricia Urquiola ensure that the SO/ Berlin Das Stue feels worlds apart from any standard living room. Quality is key in all areas: the hotel bar is exceptionally well-stocked, offering a view into the enclosures of the neighboring zoo. Other offerings include a fabulous breakfast, a highly recommended gourmet restaurant and a small but top-class spa.
Design hotel: Modern salon culture in a historical setting
Comfortable, elegant, refreshingly individual: the Stue’s rooms succeed in fashioning a comfortable atmosphere where guests can feel right at home (Stue is the Danish word for living room). Danish--since the hotel is housed in the former Danish embassy. Classic architecture melds well with the hotel’s exquisite design. Subtle colors, dark hardwood floors, unique patterned rugs and organically-formed furniture, such as for example thickly upholstered egg chairs, all combine to form an idiosyncratic mood.
