Hotel description

Due to its natural design concept, Hotel Benvengudo blends authentically into the surrounding countryside of Provence. The 28 rooms of this country hotel are bright and individually decorated. In the hotel’s spacious garden, there is a swimming pool, and the French haute cuisine of the hotel’s gourmet restaurant invites you try a culinary tour through the region.
Gourmet Hotel: Award-winning Provencal kitchen with cooking classes
As is typical in the south of France, pleasure is foregrounded at the Hotel Benvengudo. Executive chef Pascal Ginoux was awarded with a Michelin star for his creative dishes, for which he is always inspired by new regional products on the market. Those who wish to immerse themselves in the secrets of Provencal cuisine can take part in one of the cooking classes, and learn traditional recipes using regional ingredients. The hotel puts a special emphasis on serving the right wines during dinner, as the country house is built on the site of a former vineyard.
Boutique Hotel: Romantic rooms tastefully decorated, modern comforts inclusive
The Hotel Benvengudo offers various different types of rooms to choose from, of which each is individually decorated with antique furniture. Romantic details like four-poster beds or wooden ceiling beams provide a cosy ambiance. French windows lead to a private balcony or private terrace. Almost all of the rooms are at ground level and therefore also well suited to all manner of guests. Each room features air conditioning, minibar and Wi-Fi. In the suites, you will also find tea and coffee making facilities.
Country Hotel: Traditional house in quiet location
This accessible, non-smoking hotel is situated within an old country house which blends seamlessly with the nature of Provence; its walls are covered by ivy and surrounded by a perfectly pruned flower garden. The rooms are flooded with natural light due to the open construction allowing guests to enjoy views of the peaceful countryside and the surrounding mountains. The large garden with fragrant lavender flowers is equipped with sunbeds, and the terrace offers wonderful views of the hilly landscape full of olive trees.
Food & Drink: Regional cuisine of the highest quality
The breakfast is served on the terrace of the Benvengudo as a buffet, or on request the hotel room service will also bring a selection to your room. The on-site gourmet restaurant is in the top list of locations to dine in the region. The dishes by chef Thomas Voisin rely on ingredients from local farmers and markets of Provence. The Provencal cuisine is complemented by a fine selection of regional wines.
Sports & Leisure: Large outdoor pool, tennis court, nearby golf course, wine and oil tasting
In the hotel’s garden there is a large outdoor swimming pool (unheated), as well as a tennis court which is part of the hotel and reserved only for guests of the Benvengudo. There is an 18-hole golf course, with a green fee agreement, which is 2 km away. The mountainous region of Provence invites you to go hiking and is ideal for cycling tours. The hotel’s bicycle rental service will provide you with an appropriate model. Pleasure-seeking travellers can get to know the surrounding oil mills or wineries on a tour and taste their products on-site.
Location: Quiet and idyllic in the heart of rural Provence
The Benvengudo Hotel is located in the village of Les Baux-de-Provence, one of the most exquisite villages in France, and is embedded in a dreamy landscape. The medieval village is dominated by the impressive ruins of a castle, which are perched on a hill above the village. Very near to the Hotel Benvengudo, guests will find shops, a theatre, an opera and several museums. The two nearest cities, Nîmes and Avignon, are reached in roughly a 40-minute drive. The international airport in Montpellier is also only an hour away.
