The contrast is unique: Both the architecture and the interior design at theActive by Leitner’s in Kaprun are dominated by clean, straight lines. The view, however, sweeps across gently rolling meadows and jagged mountain peaks. While the stylish new building is visually very different from the traditional chalets of the area, its wooden facade and farmhouse restaurant both demonstrate the character of the region beautifully. Large panoramic-view windows bring the spectacular mountain scenery at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn into the trendy furnished rooms. As well as a spa area, creative cuisine and a wide range of rooms, the hotel also offers a variety of activities for every guest.
Wellness: Small spa oasis on two levels
At the heart of the hotel is an ultra-modern spa complex, spread over two floors and with an outdoor swimming lane. Three trained masseurs and spa therapists offer a variety of massages and treatments that are influenced by the region, including a herbal temple massage, honey massage or classic reflexology. There is also a sauna, relaxation room with huge chill-out beds and mountain views, a meditation room and a lawn in the summer. Sporty types will love the heated outdoor swimming lane, which you can even use in the winter, and a modern-equipped gym with a great panoramic view of the mountains from the top floor.
Design: Life at high altitude
The beautiful mountain views come as standard in all of the rooms at the Skihotel Active by Leitner’s. Depending on the space and amenities you need, you can choose between three different-sized rooms, a suite and family suite. Guests can also choose between a classic or contemporary style. The M-size design rooms with hammock on their own private panoramic-view terrace are ideal for a summer vacation.
Leisure & sports: Winter sports, hiking and mountain biking
For a winter vacation, there are three ski areas (Kitzsteinhorn, Maiskogel, Schmittenhöhe) within 5km from the Active by Leitner’s, offering unlimited opportunities for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. All three can be reached by a public ski bus (bus stop 2 minutes from the hotel) in just a few minutes. The hotel itself offers advice and ski passes. In the summer the area around Kaprun is perfect for hiking and mountain biking. This sports hotel also offers special guest services like meals, maps, planning assistance, bicycle hire at special rates, etc.
Food & drink: Gourmet breakfast & rustic hotel restaurant
The day begins with a lavish gourmet breakfast (until 11am). Every afternoon tea or coffee and cake is served. The hotel restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored, 600-year-old farmhouse located a short walk from the main building, where every evening a daily changing menu is served (between 6.30 and 10pm).
