The Villa Orselina is the perfect destination for newlyweds or couples looking for a romantic holiday on Lake Maggiore. Every room comes fully furnished for maximum comfort and with a wonderful view of the lake. Guests will find their room of choice stocked with a Nespresso machine, flat screen television, wireless Internet and a minibar, as well as fluffy bathrobes and slippers. The Swiss designer Silvia Utiger has designed each room to compliment her classic, soft style with light, airy colour schemes, adding a touch of Californian elegance she picked up from her twenty year residence in America.

The Villa Orselina’s concept of ‘Wellness’ is perhaps a little more thorough than other, less exclusive destinations. The entire hotel is designed to encourage the tranquility and relaxation of its guests, both physically and spiritually, from the incredibly calming lake views to the full range of treatments available at the hotel spa. Each room in the Hotel faces towards the Lake Maggiore, including not only the guest rooms but also the pools, the restaurant and Fitness Suite. In the small, but high quality ‘Labo Spa’ a team of qualified beauticians and masseuses await guests to pamper and spoil with their well-tested treatments, which can also be prepared as part of individually prepared treatment packages.
Hotel at the water’s edge: downhill on foot, or uphill by cable car
The path down to Locarno and the water’s edge is a lovely stroll lasting about 20 minutes. Alternatively guests can take a cable car either up or down the hill in minutes. With a car the journey lasts about 3 minutes.
Food and drink: fine dining and fresh pasta
In the hotel’s restaurant ‘il Ristorante’ and on the garden terrace by the pool guests can enjoy a delicious menu of Italian and Mediterranean dishes with a glass of wine from the hotel’s wine cellar. This is all set against a peaceful backdrop of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
Sport and leisure: excursions and lazy days by the pool
Apart from the obvious trips to Locarno, Ascona and the Lake Maggiore, the Villa Orselina also offers a wide range of excursions to other notable locations. For example, guests have the opportunity to take a cable car 1670 meters above sea level to the Cimetta observation point, where it is possible to enjoy a 360° view of the lake and mountains. Also easily reached on foot is the famous Ticino Pilgrim Church ‘Madonna del Sasso’. Sportier guests can also make reservations for the golf course and mountain sport activities, as well as visiting the hotel’s own well-equipped fitness space and tennis court.

The Villa Orselina is situated 300m above the water level of the Lake Maggiore and the city of Locarno. For those not travelling by car, the hotel can be reached either by cable car or by bus. It is also possible to prearrange a free personal hotel pick-up from the station.
