Hotel description

A couple of nights spent at the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso in the Abuzzo region of Italy means experiencing something completely out of the ordinary. This much can be promised: this historic honeymoon hotel is one of the most fascinating accommodations you’ll ever encounter.
Feasting in the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso
One of the prettiest spots in this romantic hotel is the dining room. Here, too, you’ll find an open fireplace, course wooden tables, and a simple stone floor. The menu is planned around shepherd’s dishes, which are made with ingredients and tasty recipes from the region surrounding this original nature hotel in Abruzzo.
The Sextantio Albergo Diffuso
On a motorcycle tour through the Abruzzo, Daniele Kihlgren, the son of Milanese industrialists, fell in love with the derelict mountain village of Santo Stefano and came up with an unbelievable idea. He planned and opened a historic hotel with real medieval features. Housed in several buildings of the lovely fortified mountain hamlet, the romantic hotel reflects the simple abodes from several centuries ago. Surprisingly they are fitted with perfectly hidden room technology, which allows for WiFi and underfloor heating while sleek Philippe-Starck bathrooms turn the archaically furnished rooms into true luxury accommodations.
Residing in the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso
The furnishings consist of old looking wooden stools and quaint shepherd’s beds. The walls are covered in rough plaster and are whitewashed. There is a fire flickering in the fireplace. Each room sends its guests into time travel. Romantic and exciting, but in a very special way also homely is how a stay in this historic hotel in Italy feels. The nicest place to soak this incredible ambiance up is the designer bathtub located in the middle of some rooms.
