The Riad Nora in Marrakech is a perfectly run medina hotel with that special something that you only find in genuine historic houses. This beautifully restored building, that was originally part of the Bahia Palace, dates from the 19th century. It was the Grand Vizier of the former Sultan who lived here.
This small, romantic hotel is situated right in the center, just a few minutes’ walk from the main square of the medina (Djemaa el Fna). It is under Swiss management and was renovated in summer 2010. As well as the five individually decorated rooms and suites, the hotel also offers a landscaped terrace and a central furnished courtyard. The Riad Nora charms guests with its sophisticated atmosphere. Every single room is full of authentic furniture, art and accessories that will make you curious to find out more about Moroccan history and culture. The rooms are each inspired by an aspect of the country’s diverse culture, and blend in seamlessly with the hotel’s communal areas. Even when you’re not in your room, you’ll still enjoy a wonderful sense of calm and seclusion. Very friendly service staff and a flexible meal plan with traditional Moroccan cuisine round off a perfect stay.
Among the total of 5 rooms, there are three lovingly decorated double rooms and two spacious suites with integrated living area with fireplace. The high ceilings, antique lamps and original cedar wood doors have seen many an era come and go. Just as authentic are the bathrooms with their colorful mosaic sinks and stylishly painted walls. Fantastic!
