The spacious villas are luxuriously appointed and spread evenly throughout the extensive grounds, offering a high degree of privacy. Both the Balinese spa and the resort’s tropical gardens – with fragrant hibiscus, lemongrass and cinnamon trees framing the hillside – are award-winning.

All the villas are decorated with natural materials and wooden furniture in classic style and equipped with private pools. 24-hour room service and a private butler are available for each villa. The 10 Maia Signature Villas enjoy spectacular sea views, while the 20 Oceanic Panoramic Villas on the hillside allow for 180-degree views of the Indian Ocean. Location: Secluded, on a private peninsula with exclusive beach
The Maia Luxury Resort & Spa Seychelles is located on a private peninsular on Anse Louise Bay, between tropical hills littered with granite rocks and a small, snow-white private beach. Privacy is guaranteed and the resort provides a secluded retreat where guests can totally relax. There are several long sandy beaches that are surrounded by unspoilt nature and perfect for sunbathing in the immediate vicinity of the resort. Also worth mentioning are the luxury resort’s award-winning garden and the magnificent views of the Indian Ocean that can be enjoyed from the hills surrounding it.
Eating & Drinking: Private gourmet dining or à la carte choices
Mealtimes at the Maia Luxury Resort & Spa Seychelles are flexible, thanks to 24-hour room service and your private butler. Relax, sleep in and have breakfast served any time in your room, on your private terrace or on the beach. Meals can be ordered at any time through the butler, or eaten in one of the restaurants or bars. The resort’s open-plan TEC TEC Restaurant is the only gourmet eatery in the area and offers a generous menu focusing on light Mediterranean cuisine with Asian-Creole influences. Typical island drinks and cocktails can be enjoyed at sunset in the Sunset Pool Bar. The resort’s wine selection is especially impressive, with a wine boutique offering more than 300 different varieties for lovers of fine wines, which can be sampled at tastings. BBQs on the beach are also popular and can be organised by staff.
Sport & Leisure: Ocean, islands, nature and relaxation in a luxury spa
The Maia Luxury Resort deservedly won the 2013 Luxury Spa Award – relaxation is taken very seriously here. Daily Qi Gong and Hatha yoga sessions are available for guests, while the Balinese Spa de Maia offers a wide range of massages, such as cleansing or herbal massages, as well as treatments including aromatherapy and body scrubs. The treatments are carried out in the private and very spacious (120 square-metre) open air pavilions. The Indian Ocean is perfectly suited for water sports. Whether jet skiing, surfing, water skiing or trying your hand at other water sports – a range of activities can be booked on the resort’s private beach or at other beaches in the area. Boat fishing trips are popular, while the colourful underwater world with corals and rare fish is best explored snorkelling or diving. Fitness fanatics can tire themselves out in the modern, on-site gym. There is a golf course just 8km away. And it is not just the Seychelles’ underwater world that is rich in wildlife: the surrounding pristine islands offer a habitat to, among other animals, rare bird species. Trips to explore the area’s nature reserves by boat, helicopter or car are recommended.
