The modern rooms of the Hotel Le Place d’Armes have been wonderfully designed to complement the historic building´s 18th-century architectural character. Many architectural features were carefully preserved during the restoration, with elegant, contemporary furniture making a quiet nod to the Baroque style.
Food & Drink: Gourmet French cuisine in
The Hotel Le Place d’Armes presents a luxurious French breakfast in its informal "Brasserie Plëss", sometimes served on the hotel´s sunny terrace in pleasant weather. Guests can indulge in delicious pastries à la carte starting from 7 o´clock. Complementing the Brasserie, the hotel´s "Café de Paris" serves light meals such as poached egg with watercress soup and pancetta, organic sandwiches with green mustard or tartar, and of course - wine. The Café de Paris welcomes guests from 10 o´clock in the morning until late into the night (1 o´clock), Monday to Saturday. The pride of the hotel, however, is the gourmet restaurant "La Cristallerie, " commanded by the head chef Fabrice Salvador. Under ambient gilded ceilings, Chef Salvador serves up delicacies of French cuisine, made even more impressive by his use of varying seasonal and regional ingredients. The elegant ambience is topped off by Art Nouveau style windows and original ornamental, in-laid painted ceilings. The deep valley of the Petruss River separates the upper town from the "Gare" quarter. The upper town is characterised by medieval buildings and has endless shopping opportunities ranging from markets to luxury boutiques. In the evenings, the area offers a vibrant and classy nightlife, including nightclubs and other entertainment. The central location of Hotel Le Place d’Armes also means that it is easily reachable from the main train station by foot (the station is about 1.6 kilometres away).
