Fitness Hotel: Swimming, skiing, hiking and a comprehensive activity programme
With its splendid location between the peaks of the Karwendel mountains and Lake Achen, Kronthaler is ideal for sports enthusiasts. The largest lake in Tyrol is perfect for boat rides and swimming. Also, sailors, surfers and kitesurfers dive into the crystal clear waters at their own expense. The in-house sport programme of Kronthaler is particularly attractive. In winter the Christlum ski area attracts skiers with its guaranteed snowy slopes and rustic mountain huts. Directly next to the hotel, 15 kilometres of slopes await the guests. Ten lifts take visitors within a few minutes up to 1,800 metres above sea level. The ski instructors and guides of the on-site ski and snowboard school are available and help beginners and advanced skiers to improve their skills in the snow-covered winter landscape. From the first curves through the snow to the demanding Freeride tours the in-house ski experts can help wherever they are needed.
Wellness: Spacious Spa area with panoramic sauna, salt grotto and aroma steam bath
Kronthaler’s guests can relax in the stylishly designed, 2,500 m² large spa. The hotel’s own wellness experts devote their full attention to each individual visitor and attach great importance to ceremonies such as the steam infusion in the sauna. The spacious indoor pool is connected to the outdoor pool, which offers 315 m² of water surface altogether. In the large Finnish panoramic sauna, salt grotto, the bio-sauna with Tyrolean herbs and the relaxing aromatic steam bath, guests can enjoy the riches of nature. A small gym with glass front and great views as well as a wide range of massages and beauty treatments complete the Spa.
Mountain Hotel: Dreaming and cycling between mountains and lake
Nestled in the mountains at 960 metres above sea level, the rooms and suites of Kronthaler offer breathtaking views of Lake Achen and the surrounding mountains. For romantics, athletes and holiday-makers the hotel leaves no wish unfulfilled: the clear waters of Lake Achen, the forest behind the hotel and the mountain scenery all around provide a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Gentle meadows and raw cliffs are ideal for walks or climbing tours. As well, Lake Achen is the ideal starting point for mountain tours or cozy trips around the lake on the E-bike.
Eating & drinking: Delicious breakfast buffet, creative gourmet cuisine, bar with panoramic views
The kitchen team of Kronthaler successfully reinterprets traditional cuisine in a creative way. The day begins with an abundant breakfast buffet with homemade bread, egg dishes, yoghurt, fresh fruit and more. For lunch, guests are treated to soup, fresh salads as well as hot and cold delicacies, sweet temptations from our patisserie, daily fresh strudel as well as a savory snack. The culinary highlight of the day is the 5-course evening menu, which is planned with great attention to detail. For night owls, a midnight snack is available at the hotel bar. At night a team of three offers creative cocktails and music at the hotel bar. Another bar can be found on the sun deck. 980 metres above sea level, here you can gaze out over the Achen Lake and Achen Valley. There are several recommended restaurants in the vicinity, some of them directly on Lake Achen.
Sport & leisure: Big indoor and outdoor pool, billiards, golf and hiking
The facilities include a large indoor swimming pool which is connected to the outdoor pool, an extended Spa area with various saunas and a range of beauty treatments and massages, as well as a well-equipped gym. In addition to the extensive activity programme, in-house ski instructors are also available to the guests. Next door to the hotel, the shopping mile "LustBOXX" offers a selection of premium brands and a hairdresser. At the nearby lakeside, a spacious golf course also awaits the guests. There are 450 km of marked trails around Achenkirch in the Alps Park Karwendel nature reserve. Other attractions include the "Adventure Park", which features several exciting high ropes courses.
