The Tamassa Resort is located directly on a white sandy beach, lapped by cobalt blue waters. The shallow lagoon is suitable for children, who can safely play in the water. Loungers and umbrellas are provided on the beach. Besides surfing and water skiing, the most popular activities include snorkelling and scuba diving, due to the lagoon’s fascinatingly diverse underwater world - one of the best preserved in all of Mauritius.
Guests can put together a personalised treatment program in the hotel’s LUX*Me spa. The Finnish sauna, spa pool and hammam are free to use. Yoga and stretching classes are also popular with guests. A beauty salon, hairdresser and range of spa treatments can be enjoyed for a fee. The hotel was awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for its 214 modern and charming rooms. The rooms, which all feature air-conditioning, are decorated with lively colours appropriate to the tropical surroundings. There are terraces with sea views and gardens.
Fantastic sandy beaches lined with palm trees, permanently warm weather, idyllic landscapes of sugar cane and mountains - Mauritius is well known as a romantic destination. The Tamassa Resort offers special packages for weddings and honeymooning couples. Whether you want to enjoy a candle-light dinner on the beach, a special private excursion or a couples pampering package at the spa - a range of special offers make for an unforgettable holiday for two.
In honour of Mauritius’ culinary traditions, Tamassa Resort uses only fresh local ingredients and offers typical island dishes for guests to sample each day. The homemade ice cream is especially highly prized. Meals in the resort’s two restaurants and a wide selection of drinks are all-inclusive. In the main restaurant, Show, guests can watch the chefs prepare the mixed European, Indian, Libyan and South-East Asian buffet dishes live. Alternatively, Playa serves Mediterranean snacks on the beach, and the modern Lounge B bar offers delicious fresh bites and typical island drinks. The Jalsa Night Club is the place to be in the evening for night owls and cocktail lovers. Meals can be ordered to your room or on the beach. Special private dinners can also be arranged. The dress code in the restaurants is relaxed, smart-casual.
Guests can swim in the cobalt blue waters of the lagoon, in three outdoor pools or in the quieter spa pool. A wide range of water sports allow guests to explore the Indian Ocean. The all-inclusive package includes the use of pedalos and equipment for snorkelling, sailing, diving, water-skiing, windsurfing and fishing. Scuba diving courses are also available. Fitness fans will get their money’s-worth in the resort’s fully equipped gym. A personal trainer is available on request and fitness courses, including yoga, are very popular. Moreover, tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball and mini golf are also available. One of the most beautiful golf courses in Mauritius is just 1km away - the 206-hectare Tamarina Golf, Spa & Beach Club, with amazing views of Mount Rempart. The stunning mountainous landscape is best explored by bike; you can borrow bikes for free from the resort and explore the dreamlike countryside, quaint fishing villages and colourful markets. A range of other excursions can be booked at the resort, including trips to swim with dolphins.
Tamassa Resort is located in Bel Ombre, in the south-west of Mauritius, surrounded by green mountains, dense sugar cane plantations, palm-lined white-sand beaches and the cobalt blue sea. Several pristine nature reserves are located in close proximity to the resort; the west coast of Mauritius remains largely untouched, with locals here still living in harmony with nature. The coast is dotted with quaint fishing villages where time seems to stand still.
Tamassa Resort is geared towards families with children of all ages, who definitely won’t suffer from boredom. Kids above 3 years of age are well looked after in the PLAY Mini Club. Whether enjoying painting or craft sessions, games and sports, or exciting treasure hunts and excursions - the mini club allows kids to have their own adventures with new friends, while their parents relax. The Studio 17 club is for teenagers between 12 and 17, and offers a varied program of excursions, dance classes and sporting activities.
