However, for those of you who want to try to see and experience it all, the Ofelias Hotel is a good place to start. The small, modern four star hotel is only around 100m from the epicentre of the city – the Plaça d’Espanya. 100m in the other direction is the Parc de Joan Miró, also a must-see when sightseeing in the city. The largest shopping centre in town, ‘Las Arenas’, is directly opposite the hotel entrance. In addition to this fantastic location, the hotel, which opened in 2011, offers a modern yet comfortable ambience and excellent service.
4 Star Hotel: comfort and class
One of the Ofelias Hotel’s best features is its tastefully decorated bedrooms. The modern design is minimalist, but the choice of materials, particularly the heavy use of wood, creates a pleasant warmth. The extremely comfortable beds with backlit headboards are also very pleasing to the eye. Just as in the public areas of the hotel, everything is spotless and well cared for. In the bathrooms, there are his and hers washbasins, large rain showers, fluffy bathrobes and high-end complimentary toiletries. Some rooms also have a private wooden terrace with furnishings. The public areas of the hotel are also a lovely mix of comfort and class – for example, the lift which takes you to the upper floors of the hotel is made entirely of glass.

The hotel does not have a restaurant open for lunch or dinner. However, there is no lack of restaurants and tapas bars in the area and reception staff will be happy to help you with recommendations.

The Ofelias Hotel offers many quiet corners and places to rest between forays into the city. There is a delightful courtyard complete with small tables to sit around, a lounge and a rooftop pool. Reception is open around the clock and staff are always willing to help with questions or reservations. Directly opposite the hotel is the large, extremely modern shopping centre ‘Las Arenas’. Visitors can take a lift to the roof, where you can enjoy a fantastic view over the city.

The Ofelias Hotel is in the northern part of the quarter of Eixample, around halfway between the Plaça d’Espanya and the Parc de Joan Miró. The airport bus provides a direct connection to the airport. Two underground stations are located only a few hundred metres away.
