The lovely boutique-hotel Hotel Historic is a nice litte hotel and apartment-house just within the historical center above the newer parts of Girona. It is situated in one of the magnificent narrow alleys of Girona and very near to the beautiful cathedral and view points overlooking Girona and the surroundings. Guests walking around the district will find some nice cafes, bars and restaurants as well as a lot of traditional buildings. The Hotel Historic offers individual accommodation in six double rooms, a juniorsuite, a suite and apartments in the same building. All of the rooms within the historical hotel are large, comfortable, and each one decorated with a particular style, which combines the oldest part of the building, like the stone walls, with a modern and innovative design. The nearby airport of Girona might be a good alternative to Barcelona airport as some low cost carriers fly in here. The romantic hotel Historic therefore is a ideal starting point for daytrips or a journey to Barcelona or to Costa Brava.

GEM OF A HOTEL

We loved staying at the Historic Hotel in Girona, once we were able to find it... Was quite difficult and the driving instructions from the hotel were difficult to follow. But was well worth the anxiety once we found it... - Beautiful and comfortable accommodations, delicious breakfast, good advice on places to go.

Great location!

We had an apartment for 3 people, but we received 2 towels. Lady at the front desk was very unhappy to add one...No place in bathroom to hand towels, stove and oven did not work.

Great location

Gerona was incredible, and the Hotel Historic is an amazing facility in a great location. It is a small family run hotel with very little amenities or services. I would expect more for the price, possibly breakfast included. Very nice people and outstanding room, building and location.

Excellent Location

The hotel has a wonderful location withexcellent staff always willing to help in any way. The only down side is that it would benefit from having a bar in the hotel.

noisy church bells

The noise all night from the constant ringing of the church bells kept us awake. Closing the windows didn't help.

Exceptionally lovely

We were very impressed with this hotel -- the location in the heart of the city, historic charm, comfort, cleanliness and upscale details. The owners were enthusiastic and helpful. Very good value, especially with the Escapio pricing. We already have recommended this hotel to others. We will use Escapio again, with confidence that we'll find a quality property.

Excellent hotel in Spanish hidden Gem

Brilliant family run hotel, very smart throughout with good sized rooms, breakfast was fantastic in the restaurant with brilliant service. I would definitely return, but would bring earplugs as the bells around the old city of girona ring throughout the night. but this is not the hotels fault, but a problem for all of the old city. The city itself puts many to shame as it is clean, smart and has style.

Great location

Hotel Historic has the best location in Girona - nothing else can compare. For some reason, we didn't get a very friendly welcome - we don't know why and we know that other people have thought it very friendly, but it wasn't for us. They did have computer problems and were perhaps thinking of other things. We had an apartment so that we could cook a bit but it was not equipped at all - a few mis-matched dishes, lots of pan covers, no pans, etc. It was nice to have a fridge but impossible to cook anything. The bathroom wasn't very clean - a crumpled tissue left behind, hairs on the floor, etc. But, as I said, the location is the best.

Noisy from cathedral

A small hotel. well decorated in old style. The noise of the Cathedral bells is loud. Very difficult to sleep as this happens every fifteen minutes.

perfect for us

we spent a long weekend in Gerona, it was freezing cold (the coldest days since ....!) but the hotel was nicely heated. the location in the old town is just great, hotel facilities, comfort and service good and we will come back on our next trip to Girona. nice quiet base for visiting barcelona!

Would love to go back

This hotel is in a great location in the old section of Girona's town. We stayed in comfortable and clean apartment. The only drawback to be aware of is that its picturesque location, beside the Cathedral, means if you're a light sleeper the Church bells ringing will be distracting. I'd go back again, even with the bells!

Like having our own apartment in Girona

Right in the heart of the old town of Girona, the hotel is two minutes stroll from the cathedral and the other historic locations. Our suite was large, clean and well equipped. Great value for the money. It was like having our own apartment in Girona, but without the hassle of upkeep. staff were nice too.

I wish I could keep this a secret place

This hotel is a wonderful blend of old and new. It is only a small hotel which means it is mainly full. The owner is a friendly family guy who is always eager to help the tourist get the most out of their stay in the city
