The castle once belonged to Pere Margarit, a captain who served under Christopher Columbus, and it was carefully and authentically restored as a stylish and romantic hotel. Castell d’Empordà is located 30 minutes from Girona’s Airport, which is roughly a two-hour flight from various major European airports.

Meetings
The conference rooms of the castle hotel Castell d`Empordà are just as special as the rest of the historic hotel. There is the room Pere Margarit, which is located in the medieval knight room of the castle. The light in this room comes from the big gothic windows, which overlook the courtyard, the chapel and the olive grove garden. It can seat up to 20 people. The second meeting room is located in the old wine cellar of the romantic hotel. This room is beautifully decorated and offers a magnificent view of the Eastern side of the mountains and of the castle hotel’s gardens. It has direct access to a private terrace where you can work or enjoy a coffee break. The room accommodates up to 24 people.

From the old tower of the castle hotel Castell d`Empordà you can enjoy the sea view. Only 20 minutes away you have the sunny beaches and aquatic sport resorts of Llafranc, Calella, Aiguablava and Begur, which are known as some of the best beaches of the Costa Brava. The North of Catalonia, el Baix Empordà, has a lot to offer for the experienced golfer. The golf tracks, overlooking the enchanting Empordà region, are all of excellent quality. The 4 star hotel Castell d’Empordà is the ideal starting point for visiting the medieval city of Girona with its old bridges, the beautifully restored Jewish quarter and the widest Cathedral in Spain. Nearby there is Figueres, with its famous Dali´s Theatre Museum. Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, makes a lovely one-day trip as well.
