Spend an idyllic, truly historic, and almost private vacation in the Le Chatenet. The Laxton family has been running this small country palace in the Dordogne for almost 25 years as a romantic hotel with just a few rooms. In 2007, Magdeleine and Philippe Laxton handed it down to their son William and his wife Jane. The nice owners literally open all doors on this charming property for their guests. You’ll stay in charmingly rural guest rooms and have breakfast in the morning sun on the garden terrace. To add, this historic family hotel features a private swimming pool and a tennis court.

In the morning, you either eat in the salon or out on the terrace of this beautiful mansion. Le Chatenet doesn’t feature its own restaurant, yet several restaurants in Brantôme are easily reached on foot. However, this romantic hotel in the Périgord still has a culinary ace up its sleeve: the Laxtons are passionate travelers to Taiwan and like to invite their guests to a true Taiwanese tea ceremony!
