In the heart of ancient Valladolid, today known as Morelia the ‘Patrimony of Humanity’ city, is found what was once the Episcopal Palace. After having been used for many different purposes over the years, this magnificent, pink limestone building has been re-opened as the 4 star hotel Los Juaninos. Located in the historic downtown, all major interest sites are in walking distance. The extraordinary boutique hotel with a difference abounds in history and nostalgia. Blending the architectural genius of the twentieth century with that of the old, this historic hotel offers all modern conveniences and excellent service.
There are 30 rooms in all, each individually distinctive and distributed around two patios, which are gems of 19th century eclecticism. The corridors are decorated with elegant, antique furniture in a lush, green color. There are three Master Suites and seven are Junior Suites. They are individually designed down to the detail. Many elements of the ancient hotel have been preserved, such as doors and windows, roofs, arches, screens in the bathrooms and even European baths. Many of the rooms have amazing views (in fact, the best) of the Cathedral and the Historical Center of Morelia. The rooms are truly a balcony over-looking history. Undoubtedly, the most impressive rooms are the suites. The ’one on the corner patio’, with its original European bath and its own patio; the ‘Archbishops one’, spacious and with an elegant bathroom complete with a spa; and above all, the ‘one on the corner’, with a bed that has the best view in Morelia, palatial decoration and a bathroom complete with wooden screens from the last century. Each room, each suite, is an unforgettable experience – a vibrant, historical souvenir.
