Looking for more than a quick getaway? For anyone who wants to escape, to get out of the city, out of the daily grind, and even out of this century, the Ethno-Hotel Balatura is a perfect match. Restored by historical preservation experts, this Croatian lodge is an enchanting place to find peace and nature!
For generations, this historic estate in the small, sedate village Tribalj (near Rijeka) has belonged to the Godec family. Goran and Anne-Kathrin, the current owners, moved to this picturesque Croatian valley from Germany with their five children, establishing a dream hotel for individualists. The mixture of rustic farmhouse-architecture and artful design in muted yet merry colors creates a wonderful effect. Around the hotel, the unique landscape of the Karst mountain range stretches out, affording countless opportunities for nature activities. Goran, the host, is himself a passionate hang-glider. There are also offerings on the culture level: on the initiative of hostess Anne-Kathrin, who herself is an author, regular readings and concerts take place in the house.
