Hotel description

The Hotel Triest is contemporary and cosmopolitan in every respect. Yet no matter where you happen to be at this historic 5 star hotel, there is no doubt that you are in Vienna. This former coach station is brimming with Viennese charm, from the tastefully furnished rooms to the chic lounge that was once the stables. Some of the rooms even offer views over St Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Naschmarkt is just around the corner. A charming, leafy courtyard is the perfect inner oasis of calm. For fine dining, the restaurant serves Italian-inspired cuisine, and if you fancy rounding off a relaxed night with style then the Silver Bar is the perfect spot.
City hotel: Traditional Vienna with state-of-the-art amenities
This mid-1990s building, converted into a hotel, shouts traditional Vienna with its creamy yellow facade and gray slate roof. Its central location means you can easily walk to the city center. The Naschmarkt and Vienna State Opera, for example, are just a few minutes walk away. The hotel itself offers everything you would expect from a world-class city hotel including the highly acclaimed interior design by Sir Terence Conran and the popular hotel bar run by bartender legend Keita.
5 star hotel: Italian design & first-class service
Inside this historic building guests are treated to a modern, elegant and yet very homely design that combines Italian and Bauhaus elements with Viennese hospitality. The stylish junior suites and suites with their hand-picked designer furniture are a feast for the eyes. If you stay here in the summer season go for a Garden Suite with direct access to the first floor roof garden! This luxurious feel can be enjoyed in every room, but is also not over the top. The same goes for the well-trained staff as well as the room amenities, which includes an Apple computer with internet connection as standard.
Food & drink: Breakfast in the garden & gourmet Italian cuisine
The day begins with a hearty breakfast buffet that, in the warmer months, you can enjoy in the garden under a gnarled old olive tree. The choice ranges from freshly baked bread and pastries to a variety of juices, salmon and scrambled eggs to homemade strawberry jam and sparkling wine. At the other mealtimes, you can tuck into more good food in the restaurant Collio which serves fine Italian cuisine. On the menu you’ll find creative gourmet risottos, Schnitzel with an Italian spin on it and an irresistible gingerbread "Schmarrn". Wash it all down with an unusual gourmet creation in the Silver Bar where the manager Keita serves what are widely known as the city’s best cocktails.
Location: In the heart of Vienna
The central location in the heart of the city center is one of the biggest plus points of the Triest. You can walk to St Stephen’s Cathedral and the Naschmarkt in just a few minutes. The same goes for Kärntner Straße, the Vienna State Opera, Karlsplatz and Belvedere Palace. The tram line to the Prater runs almost directly past the hotel.
