In a fantastic location on the Schönried terrace, the Hotel Ermitage is located on the Rellerli mountain within a large park. In 2011, this hotel for active travellers was renovated and shines in new splendour since then. 96 rooms and suites offer rustic charm and traditional hospitality. A 3,500 m² spa area with sports pool and 2 heated saltwater pools, ski rental in the hotel, a large garden with lawn and fine Swiss cuisine in the eight on-site restaurants ensure both an active and relaxing stay in the pure mountain air.
Wellness Hotel: Sauna park, saltwater bath and heated sport pool
Hotel guests can use the spa area for no extra charge. The hotel’s Sauna Park, with the Lady Spa, offers indoor and outdoor pools, a saltwater pool, Whirlpool hot tub and 10 different saunas with stunning mountain views. The large heated sports pool in the outdoor area can be used for laps in any weather. Ayurveda, sound and partner massages as well as therapies and Vitalita beauty treatments complete the offerings of the hotel. An attractive relaxation room with panoramic views, well room, and a hair and beauty salon provide relaxation and recreation in a stylish atmosphere. The large garden in the vast park offers a sun terrace and a sunbathing area. The peace and power of nature is also evident in the 96 rooms of the hotel. They are decorated in traditional chalet style with lots of wood and natural materials and are equipped with minibar, balcony, bathroom, desk, sitting area, radio and TV for a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access is available for free throughout the entire hotel premises.
Gourmet Hotel: Fine Swiss cuisine in stylish surroundings
The gourmet restaurant "Ermitage Stube" and the seven "Table d’Hotes” dining rooms pamper guests’ palates. Each of the seven rooms has been lovingly and stylishly decorated to the last detail and has an individual character. All rooms are traditionally decorated in wood, from the more rustic-inspired farmhouse parlors "Lutz" and "Lawrence" to the “Saane Hall” with a ballroom feel. Breakfast and dinner is served to hotel guests in the light-flooded orangery, whose walls are covered with greenery. The rustic Fondue Spycher restaurant offers delicious fondues and other culinary delights, which is especially cosy in winter. Head chef Uwe Seegert serves creative international cuisine and classic Swiss dishes with unusual components in the "Ermitage Stube". The family-friendly Hotel Ermitage serves both little and big kids in the separate dining area the “Doerfli-Ecke“ from 6 PM onwards, where a special children’s menu is also served.
Sports Hotel: Swimming, tennis, fitness classes, close to the slopes
The large lap pool outside, various pools and the hotel’s private tennis court offer active guests many options for a workout. Further facilities include squash and beach volleyball courts. There is a free bike hire, and in winter almost all kinds of winter sports are possible in the hotel’s surrounding area. The ski lift Rellerli is just 150 meters from the hotel. Every morning gymnastics are offered, and swimming pool is open early in the morning. Fitness and wellness courses such as cardio, Pilates or yoga are provided to bring body and soul into balance. Upon request, a personal trainer is provided. A comprehensive sports programme invites guests to go on excursions in the surrounding area under the professional supervision of a guest relations manager. In summer, hiking and Nordic walking or bike tours are available, and in winter, the nearby ski resort is open to guests. The Hotel Ermitage sells ski passes and hires the necessary equipment. A ski school is also located very close by.
Food & Drink: Hearty buffet and healthy organic cuisine
The room rate includes half board à la carte with a rich buffet breakfast and a lunch menu for hotel guests for 25 CHF. In the morning, afternoon and evening, sumptuous buffet meals are served in the Orangerie. On request, packed lunches are also available. Dinner consists of three courses with three choices. For younger guests there is a children’s menu on request. The restaurant’s fine Swiss cuisine consists of fresh, local ingredients, healthy organic cuisine, vegetarian dishes and diet dishes on request as well as lactose, gluten-free and vegan cuisine. In the afternoon and evening, piano is played in the lobby and in the bar. Besides the excellent wine list in the "Ermitage Stube", the bar “One Million Stars”, with a bar set with one million Swarovski crystals, offers nice drinks and evening entertainment in a pleasant atmosphere.
Sports & Recreation: Skiing and Mountaineering
The Swiss ski resort of Gstaad is famous for its ski slopes and ski runs. Here, both Alpine skiing and snowboarding as well as winter hikes are available. The hotel offers ski rental and organises ski lessons. Just 150 meters from the hotel is the ski lift Rellerli. Nearby there is a horse riding center, a golf course and the opportunity to go climbing and mountaineering.
