Relaxation is guaranteed at Hotel Beatus thanks to the variety of its wellness services, large spa area with indoor pool, an outdoor saline pool with water jets, and the garden, lawn and sun terrace areas. For culinary delights, guests can indulge in the hotel´s café or two bars, or the three restaurants which serve creative and healthy organic cuisine. The hotel´s stylish interior also makes it ideal for hosting meetings, seminars and banquets.
A Wellness Hotel: Spa, Beauty and Massage
An extensive 2,000 square metre spa and wellness area guarantees hotel guests relaxation and well-being. The "classic" and "bamboo" sauna areas include a hammam, light sauna and a Finnish log cabin sauna. These combined with a steam room in the flower grotto, a solarium and an outdoor saline pool with water jet streams gently brings the body and soul into balance. Aroma baths, Kneipp hydrotherapeutic treatments and massages from classic to Asian complete the wellness experience. Guests can indulge in herbal wraps, reflexology treatments and revitalising massages and facials which restore, rejuvenate and strengthen the body. Thalasso therapy and beauty consultations are also offered. The "bamboo" sauna area includes the ambient relaxation room "Le Petit Oubli", and in the summer the lawn and sun terrace areas are also ideal for relaxing in. For hotel guests, the spa and wellness center is free of charge.

The 5-star Hotel Beatus is situated on the shores of Lake Thun, one of the most scenic areas of Switzerland. The view from the hotel is the magnificent mountain area of the Bernese Oberland. Guests can enjoy relaxing recreational and leisure activities thanks to the hotel´s secluded location on the outskirts of town and its private sandy beach and marina. Accommodation options include 75 traditionally and charmingly decorated double rooms available in different categories. All rooms are equipped with a balcony, TV, free WiFi connection, safe and minibar. The Schilthorn rooms are decorated in mint and sand tones and offer lake views; the Monk deluxe double rooms overlook the lake and are decorated in refreshing turquoise and warm golden tones and have a bathroom and a separate WC. The small and cozy Niesen rooms are on the lake side on the first floor and the Niederhorn rooms offer mountain views. There are also three wellness suites available.

Guests looking to stay active on holiday will find plenty of options in which to indulge at the Hotel Beatus. The hotel´s private marina area offers sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and diving. The outdoor heated saline pool and indoor pool means that guests can swim all year round, with pre-breakfast water aerobics offered during the summer. Private boat trips on the lake are also available. Hiking trails lead from the hotel along the lake and into the mountains. In winter, ice and snow-shoeing are possible, and the hotel´s modern fitness room with weight machines is then especially ideal to keep in shape.
Food & Beverage: Indulgences of the highest caliber
Guests selecting half-board can enjoy the rich breakfast buffet served in either the hotel´s restaurant "Table d’Hotes, " or directly in the room if requested. For culinary delights of the highest caliber, guests can indulge in the hotel´s restaurant "Le Bel Air" which is managed by the chef Holger Schultheis. This elegant restaurant overlooks the lake and in pleasant weather, serves its healthy organic cuisine from predominantly fresh, local and seasonal produce out on the large terrace. Vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free food can also be requested. All guests can also savour a daily five-course meal which is included the accommodation rates. Upon request, half-board is also possible. The hotel´s third restaurant, "Orangerie, "serves light meals and snacks and is open from 12:00 to 22 o´clock. Evenings can be enjoyed at the piano bar which offers ambient music and drinks with a backdrop of the sunset over the lake. In addition, hotel guests can find healthy teas, juices and fruit at the wellness bar "La Santé" in the large spa area. The café "Le Palmier" under the palm trees on the terrace also serves up snacks, perfect for inbetween sauna sessions and treatments.
Sports & Leisure: Hiking, windsurfing and sailing
The hotel´s unique lakeside location provides guests with many opportunities for sports and leisure activities. The private marina of the Hotel Beatus is perfect for sailing and windsurfing and guests can also book private boat trips on the lake. Boat trips run to the St. Beatus caves, the castle Schadau or to the music festival at the lake. The Hotel Beatus also organises hikes of varying difficulty. At the hotel, guests can indulge in the large wellness area which includes saunas, a solarium, massage services and a modern fitness room. The use of the hotel´s gym, billiard tables and tennis court are free for guests. For more sports and leisure, there is a golf course nearby and many cultural and shopping opportunities, including in the cities of Thun, Interlaken and Bern.

The Hotel Beatus is located at Seestraße 300 (Lake Street) on the outskirts of Merligen. As its address hints, the hotel is situated directly on the lake, thereby offering gorgeous views of it and the mountains. From Lörrach, the hotel is about 1.5 hours by car, and from Zurich about 2 hours. The nearest train station with an ICE connection is in Thun. To reach the hotel by car, take the A6 towards Thun Nord / Gunten and then follow the road along the lake just past Merligen.
