The Samaya Bali Ubud is the small sister hotel of the beach hotel in Seminyak which carries the same name. Guests are welcomed into breathtakingly luxurious bungalows, not like those in Seminyak which are by the sea, but rather amidst a tropical hillside setting. The buildings are open thatched-roof pavilions, matching perfectly to the lush green forests that surround them. The river Ayung also flows through the landscape: some villas, the restaurant and the spa even lie directly on the banks of this beautiful river. Just as exciting as the atmosphere of the Samaya Ubud is its design concept: Warm natural colours, high quality wood, traditional thatched roofs and the typical simple forms of Asian living culture. The 19 villas truly offer an ambience in which one can only feel total comfort.
Spa Hotel: The River Side Spa
At the hotel’s very own Ayung River Side Spa Centre guests will find a wide variety of opportunities for rest and relaxation, providing too views over the river. The professional massages on offer use various aromatherapy massage oils, and traditional Balinese massages are also on offer, as well as four-handed massages. The spa also offers facial treatments, wellness-packages and a range of the most serene relaxation courses which can be booked by guests. In addition guests will find a steam bath, a sauna and a tranquil garden area with a pool, perfect for a light, relaxing swim.

A holiday at the Samaya Bali Ubud offers all forms of luxury and comfort that one could possibly imagine. The villas are expansive and each have their own roofed outdoor area, as well as a large private pool and whirlpool which can be lit with various colours. The day begins whenever guests choose it to, with an exceptional à la carte breakfast with a breathtaking view over the surrounding rice fields. Throughout the day and in the evenings, the two resort restaurants offer exquisite food in a romantic and beautiful setting. The evening Sea Food Barbecue is definitely to be recommended at the ’scene’ restaurant. At the ’swept’ restaurant guests sit while eating on wooden decking directly over the river. Here fine French classical cuisine with an Asian touch is served, as well as traditional Indonesian dishes. The ’Swept’ restaurant also offers a daily complimentary afternoon tea service with wonderful sandwiches and deserts.
Free time and Sport: Relaxation, fitness and individual island excursions
As well as the Riverside Spa, the Samaya Bali Ubud also offers guests a modern fitness room. The hotel also organises individually planned excursions to the historic tourist sites of the area, and can help plan trips to experience the island’s nature by foot or by bike. The Samaya Bali Ubud is wonderfully embedded in a tropical hillside landscape and rice fields, about 15 minutes drive away from Ubud. Ubud is approximately 30 km North of Denpasar and belongs to the most culturally rich areas of Bali, with its numerous tourist attractions. A complimentary transport service will of course take guests at any time to the town and bring them back.
