Hotel Description

The rural house Pazo Hospedería La Buzaca is located in Moraña, in the very heart of the Spanish region Galicia, north of the Carpathian mountains. To visit this Spanish manor house will be like a journey back in time. The special atmosphere of this hotel within the centre of Spanish history was influenced by the Varela family who has been living here since the 16th century. Entering the entrance hall of the Pazo Hospedería La Buzaca you can check time on a 300 years old English clock. But for the length of your stay at this castle in Moraña, time won´t have much of a meaning, but romance and recreation.
The property, located quite close to the famous Santiago de Compostela, is surrounded by an old stone wall and comprises 40,000 sqm of garden and groves, a barn, a dovecot and a chapel. As the saying goes, "pigeon loft, chapel and cypress tree make a manor house."
During your stay at the rural house Pazo Hospedería La Buzaca in Moraña, enjoy many wonderful and romantic spots for relaxed conversation, reading or walking. There are centuries-old trees and impressive varieties such as the chestnut tree in the plot in front of the dovecot. The rooms of the Pazo Hospedería La Buzaca are named after the woods that you can see from the windows. Feel like a castle owner during your holidays at this jewel of Spanish history!

The first room is called Varela (first owner of the property of La Buzaca). Don Gómez Varela died in 1627, and was buried in the Chancel of Santa María de Caldas. He perhaps earned this distinction because he was justice of the peace in the borough of Caldas, and is mentioned in different documents as a licentiate and a judge.
The bed in room number 1 has a 19th-century mahogany bed-head.

The pink Art Deco washbasin is a highlight of the room number 3.

Each room is dedicated to a woman married to a male member of the Varela family. The decor is in keeping with the tastes and interests of these women who left their mark on the manor house.

At the end of the stables was the housekeepers' house. This small, two-storey building is the most typical example of everyday life in the Galician countryside. It owes its name, La Caza (The Hunt), to the fact that from the house you can see the mountains where hunting was practised.
Present-day facilities include the welcoming "lareira", a fireplace of yesteryear, a room on the ground floor and two on the first floor.
The rooms are decorated with warm colours to reflect their homely feel
