Hotel La Posta Vecchia
La Posta Vecchia - An exceptional Hotel for exceptional people
Beautiful Villa of the XVI century, 40km from Rome city center and 25 from Rome international Airport. Belonged in the past to the american billionaire Jean Paul Getty who bought it from the Prince Odescalchi, whose castle is located next door. Restoration works lasted 5 years and the ruins of two ancient roman villas were discovered beneath the foundations. Getty carefully restored the elaborate mosaics and objects found in the subterranean chambers, and created the small, private museum which guests and visitors may visit at la Posta Vecchia today. The professor Federico Zeri, curator at the time of the Getty Museum in California, assisted Jean Paul Getty in the decoration of the mansion and selection of each piece of furniture. In 1990 La Posta Vecchia was converted into a luxury Hotel, affiliated to Relais & Chateaux, and its magnificent collection can be enjoyed by all guests of the house.
