Il Pellicano, opened on the 2nd of June 1965 was built to celebrate the love of the British army pilot, Michael Graham and the American jet setter Patsy Daszel, who picked the Argentario peninsula to build a private resort reminiscent of Pelican Point in California. Peace and tranquillity reign supreme and still offer spectacular views of the crystalline waters of the Tuscan coast. Composed of six cottages and a central building, IL PELLICANO is more a cluster of villas with 35 rooms, 5 junior suites and 10 deluxe suites surrounded by secular gardens of olive trees and cypresses.

The elegant dining room has a large terrace with a beautiful sea view and a cellar which holds more than a thousand labels of wine. The excellent cuisine created by Chef Antonio Guida is inspired by the Italian tradition with an international influence. Delicious, dreamy meals are served on a large terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

IL PELLICANO hotel features also another panoramic restaurant overlooking the heated sea water swimming pool and boast a stunning view across the bay: "all’aperto" Tuscan grill proposes a selection of typical Tuscan specialities during the summer months, and a wide range of local fish and meat, served from the grill. LA CANTINA, wine cellar, where guests can enjoy wine and oil tastings offers labels ranging from the most refined Italian wines to the best international cru as well as a fine selection of the most prestigious spirits, craft made liqueurs and cigars

The PELLICLUB health & beauty centre with a Roman-style steam bath Calidarium, and four treatment rooms for the most advanced and pampering body and face treatments, hairdressing service and state of the art work-out equipment in our fitness centre and a tennis court. The boutique offers a unique selection of gowns, swimsuits, jewellery and accessories of the hippest designers. The beauty complex has also a coiffeur and a Technogym area.

An elevator built into the rock connects the heated sea-water swimming pool and the bar with the Rocky Beach at sea level below and a little pier where our tender boat can anchor.
In addition to the tennis court on site, there are also golf facilities located only 5 km away.

Entertainment
The nights at Il Pellicano in Tuscany are particularly enjoyable on the sea view terrace of the main building, with live music every evening. On request, cooking courses are arranged where guests learn the secrets of Mediterranean cooking, taught by some of the best talents of the Italian gastronomic world.

Il PELLICANO superb location offers guests the opportunity to drive or sail to some of the most intriguing places in Tuscany. The medieval town of Capalbio, nestled on a Tuscan hilltop and well known for its local cuisine, is just 30 minutes away. Nearby attractions include the 17th century Spanish fortress, Etruscan and Roman ruins. Guests interested in golfing in Tuscany, can go to the new 18 hole golf course which is only ten minutes away. Guests can indulge in several leisure activities such as boat trips to the islands of Giglio, Giannutri and the Tuscan archipelago, tennis, kayaking, swimming. For nearby shopping strolls Capalbio, Orbetello, Porto Ercole or Porto Santo Stefano are lovely Tuscan sea side villages, or for those who wants to venture further afield, day trips to Rome or Florence are another appealing option. Not to be missed is a visit of the magic Maremma countryside to admire the numerous Medieval villages in the surroundings.
